Amazing optical illusion by @victoria1skye. The horizontal bars are straight & parallel! Tilt your screen & look from the side. Mind. Blown. 🤯

If you're planning on becoming a professional actor for a few months just to "try it out and see how it goes", you're probably just wasting your time…and a lot of other people’s time. Make a real commitment!

Voice actor impostor syndrome is real, but I think we also need a term for that feeling when you listen to your best VO work from a decade ago and realize it was actually crap.

Do improv! It’s perhaps the best way for an actor to get comfortable in their own skin, as a performer.

Being a successful voice actor is approximately 10% talent, 10% hard work, 10% luck, and 70% having a great idea about how to read a line during the session instead of after.

Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant are two performers closely associated with the Transatlantic accent. Accent expert @accentvoiceguy explains how this was an aspirational form of speech for people in the '30s and '40s. See the TCM Original piece here: youtu.be/XlBE4C5DBpE

Sometimes a one-word script can be tough and even a very experienced #voiceover artist can relate to this. Would you agree? 😜 P.S Toast of London never gets old. We love it! #voiceacting #FridayFeeling

If you're a voice actor that I haven't worked with before and I have to spend more than 5 minutes looking for an email on here or your website, I'm probably going to pass to the next actor. #hardtruth #CantAskEveryone

I was about to put a task on my "to-do" list. Then I realized it would probably just be faster to do the task right now! Mission accomplished!

Me thinking about famous screen actors: Just because they're famous doesn't mean they're better than me. Me thinking about famous voice actors: Oh they are absolutely better than me.

#VO tip: When you get cast in an iconic role, there’s a level of expectation that you’ll “protect the magic” & take care of these characters, specifically for kid’s shows and classic characters. It can be more than providing a voice and wonderful acting.
