Not many runners start their marathoning career undefeated⌠but Andreas Almgren isnât most runners.
The European record holder in the half marathon is now the 2026 NYC Marathon champion, the first Swedish champion in the raceâs 56-years history.

INCREDIBLE FINISH đą
Jess McClain đşđ¸ runs the best race of her career at the 2026 NYC Marathon, clocking 2:24:42 for her first World Marathon Major podium and securing an auto-qualifier for the 2028 Olympics.
McClain is the first American to finish top three in NYC since Shalane Flanagan in 2018.
Every Halloween since it came out, Iâve watched The Batman. Itâs a tradition I look forward to. This year, I didnât watch it and instead watched the OSU game.
What a horrible decision.
Donât break good traditions. Grass isnât always greener.
Man, itâs rough taking a giant loss then having to go back to school, then show up the next day and the next.
Coaches, you (we) do more than people realize. It affects us too. I hope youâre ok. Iâm with you
Couldnât get it done again this year. Almost every boy ran one of the best races of the year, we just werenât fast enough. I feel like we did everything right this year. This is our best training, most committed group. I just donât know what Iâm missing
Grateful for them still.
If today is our last practice, then thereâs no regrets on the year. Weâve done everything possible in our power to be successful, and regardless of results, weâve found that success this year.
But, Lord willing, weâre back on Thursday
To be fair, they were having a lively discussion about Cyberpunk 2077, a game and franchise Iâm (concerningly) familiar with.
Theyâre missing a few key elements of the whole point, but it is cool when kids are into media that youâre into
Todayâs adventure in cross country:
A lady got out of her car to yell at my boys for scaring her. Theyâre all wearing reflector vests, and on the sidewalk. Her car is in the driveway, and is not on. Not sure who really scared who

We expect more out of you, and will not be compensating you for it.
Youâll be held to a higher standard, be responsible for an expensive vehicle, and the lives of some 50 souls on board.
Youâll drive this oversized, under maintained vehicle early before school, after school (maybe even pulling you out of practice⌠the very thing youâre applying to do), and late nights after games. Youâll do it on limited sleep, but weâve opened you up to severe punishment by the DMV if you make a mistake while driving.
Youâre expected to drive pre-game. We donât care if it interferes with your ability to mentally prepare for the game. Youâll drive post-game. We donât care if youâre riding an emotional roller coaster, coming off an adrenaline rush from a victory or upset due to a loss.
Youâll gladly jump into this role without the compensation or weâll deduct your already minuscule wages.
