NEW: Vladimir Putin spent most of his call with the leaders of Finland and Norway ranting about Slavic history, underscoring Europe's tough task backing Ukraine in peace talks.
The planned 20-minute call dragged on for 90. A ceasefire barely came up:

Russia's neighbours, a ledger:
Moldova, 1992: Russian troops in Transnistria. Still there.
Georgia, 2008: about 20% occupied. Still occupied.
Ukraine, 2014: Crimea.
Ukraine, 2022: full invasion.
The pattern isn't NATO. It's Moscow.
🇹🇷 “We are at war.” Tensions are boiling over in Turkey
Following a crackdown on the opposition, restrictions on the media, and the case against Istanbul's mayor, the leader of the Republican People's Party has declared that he is now at war — and is ready to face death or prison if necessary.
It all started last week, when Erdoğan took a swipe at the opposition during a meeting of his party, mocking its increasingly dramatic rhetoric.
“What's going on, gentlemen? Who are you fighting? Have you declared mobilization without telling us? Has Turkey been occupied without us hearing about it?”
Erdoğan urged his opponents to stop dividing society with such rhetoric.
But opposition leader Özgür Özel refused to back down and fired back at the president:
“We are at war, my friend! We are fighting against injustice and lawlessness! Against those who steal money from banks and take children away from their mothers. We will go to the ballot box, win, and save this country.”
Turkey's next elections are not scheduled until 2028, which is why the opposition is demanding an early vote. Judging by its rhetoric, it has no intention of waiting another two years.

Bullshit alert. Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza should be voting in Palestinian elections. But the Palestinian Authority has refused to hold elections since 2006. And the Hamas terrorists in Gaza haven't held elections since seizing power in 2007.
This is the classic deception of so many Palestinian activists: blame Israel while pretending Palestinians have no agency or responsibility for their own future.

Did you know Palestinians can’t vote in American elections?

Apparently, your lies and lunatic statements know no borders, even when you can no longer cross them yourself.
We used to endure your lies in the UN halls in New York. After your U.S. visa was revoked, yesterday we had to hear them over Zoom.
And we’re not the only ones fed up. Many here at the UN are tired of the hatred and incitement you spread.
History remembers those who chose to stand with murderers and rapists.

🇺🇸🇷🇺 Trump has been played.
Lavrov says the war in Ukraine will continue and is likely to escalate.
Trump is the only person alive on Earth who believes there will be a deal.
Trump has lifted sanctions and cut intelligence sharing with Ukraine for nothing.
He has given Moscow billions and delayed defence shipments to Ukraine, all for absolutely nothing.
An unprecedented foreign policy disaster.
🤡 Trump's son spent two days hunting in Mongolia with Umar Kremlev — the very same Russian businessman who paid for part of his wedding celebrations
According to the Financial Times, the two reportedly tried to avoid being photographed together during the trip.
Kremlev was accompanied by Russian businessman Artur Martirosov, a partner at the US-sanctioned venture capital fund Voskhod. Trump Jr. was joined by Kevin Small, a longtime Republican Party donor.
And this isn't the first story linking the US president's son to Kremlev.
ProPublica previously revealed that the Russian businessman had paid for part of Trump Jr.'s wedding celebrations in the Bahamas. Donald Trump Sr. later claimed that the money had been repaid to Kremlev.
A spokesperson for Trump Jr. confirmed his friendship with Kremlev, explaining that the two share a passion for hunting.
💸 Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding in the Bahamas was secretly paid for by a Russian figure close to the Kremlin
According to a ProPublica investigation, Trump Jr.’s wedding to Bettina Anderson in May cost several hundred thousand dollars. The bill reportedly included the rental of a private island for around $100,000 per night and another $70,000 for fireworks.
ProPublica says the expenses were covered by Umar Kremlev, head of the International Boxing Association (IBA). The outlet cites payment records and three sources familiar with the event. According to the investigation, the payment was made through an IBA-linked entity in Dubai.
Kremlev himself also attended the wedding, although his presence was apparently meant to remain low-profile. He was accidentally spotted in a social media post by one of the bride’s friends. A spokesperson for Trump Jr. did not deny the payment, saying only that “Umar is a friend of Don.”
Jared Kushner and Russian businessman Alexander Lagutin, who has ties to Russian defense contracts, were also among the guests.
And the main question remains unanswered: why would someone whose fortune is estimated in the hundreds of millions of dollars need a Russian powerbroker to pay for his wedding?
