Replying to @Cloudflare
@Cloudflare I was excited about this AI Audit feature announced a few weeks ago: blog.cloudflare.com/cloudfla… But it doesn't work at all for my accounts: community.cloudflare.com/t/a… It seems the only way to report this issue is to post on that community site, but no one has replied. 😞

Wild that this feature just doesn't work, and there is no way to report a bug. You'd think Cloudflare would want to know when something was broken, but I'm directed to a "Community" where the post got zero replies; and asking here was also ignored. Does not inspire confidence.

Touchscreens in automobiles were found to be "onerous and distracting" in 1986, and still are today. It's design malpractice that some vehicles put frequently used controls (like climate) in a touchscreen instead of a physical control.
Buick created the first car touchscreen on its model Riviera in 1986. The technology was dropped because customers found it onerous and distracting [read more: buff.ly/3iXRoa4] [full video by doktorebuick: buff.ly/3tv2lbv]

I've been digging this iOS 16 feature of randomly shuffling photos on my lock screen – thanks for the tip @cabel! I wish there was an optional way to show the location & date the photo was taken. And maybe the caption, if there is one? And a way to go to the photo in my library?
I set my iOS 17 lock screen to randomly Shuffle a new "Nature" photo from my photo library, every hour… and it has been an absolute delight. It is *always* fun to pick up my phone and remember where I've been.
I don't post much, but I get a lot from those I follow. I'll miss this place once it's destruction is complete, which seems inevitable. I'm hoping to re-create as much of this community as I can on Mastadon. If you want to stay connected, I'm at: pdx.social/web/@benish

If you're Mastadon-curious, this is a good thread explaining the concept of Mastadon servers, which was the most confusing part to me (TL;DR: it doesn't matter much – you can follow anyone, and move servers later): nitter.gq/garius/status/15888277…
Right. As a heavy tweeter/content creator who is now maintaining BOTH a Twitter and Mastodon presence, here is a short guide to what I have set up, how to do it and lessons I've learned, for others. TLDR: It's been WAY less hassle than I expected thanks to tips from followers /1

And this is a useful tool for finding people you follow on Twitter and importing them to Mastadon: pruvisto.org/debirdify/ (Only works if they have their Mastadon username in their Twitter, so do that if you're on Mastadon.)
Welp, now I want to figure out some reason to have some lettering painted somewhere in my house…
No, thank YOU. 😍 #handpainted
Just launched: a refreshed brand and new website for Just Outcomes Consulting: justoutcomesconsulting.com/ I'm really proud of this work, and delighted to help showcase the good work they are doing.

Was trying to show Koren how it worked and I suppose now she thinks it’s always this easy… Wordle 209 2/6 ⬜⬜🟨⬜🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
I just came across this quote and I liked it so much I had to share it. Sometimes words like these just come at the right time. — "It's a slow process, but quitting won't speed it up." —

All maps are abstractions and interpretations – this is a great thread on how sometimes a less realistic representation is more accurate for the viewer.
Why does the sunlight come from the north in shaded relief maps? The sunlight in this map comes from the upper left, but in the northern hemisphere the sun mostly occupies the southern half of the sky, so why isn't it coming from below?

Design nerds: I just used coolors.co for the first time in awhile, and it's really good for exploring color schemes. Thank you @_fbrz for making this great tool.

Georgia is having a runoff Jan 5 to decide who our 2 new senators will be. If those senators go blue Mitch McConnell will no longer be Senate Majority Leader. You have until December 7 to register to vote. Retweet to spread awareness even if you don’t live here.
