1952 DC Comics Wonder Woman #53… the historic polygraph cover!
In the 1910s while studying psychology at Harvard, William Moulton Marston developed the systolic blood pressure test, a key early component of what became the polygraph. He was deeply interested in detecting deception and compelling truth.
In 1941, Marston created Wonder Woman. He equipped her with the golden lasso that forces anyone bound by it to obey her and tell the truth. The Lasso of Truth was his fictional version of the polygraph.
Many people believe the polygraph examiner depicted on the cover was made to depict Marston.

It may be crazy, but I only buy raw cards on eBay with added PSA grading. If the card won’t grade for any reason, it is an automatic refund. A little bit of added insurance.
It has saved me on two purchases so far.

This 1952 Topps wax pack has been untouched since its creation and it’s looking for a new home

My inclination is to always hit @ebay first, but there are some great and trustworthy sellers on @instagram.
Picked up this 1997 One Piece #1 BGS 8.5 DC 6.5 First Print Manga from the Silveragecollector on IG.
It will eventually be re-holstered in a PSA slab.

A normal by-product of unsustainable price gains.
Be careful out there.
Venom #3 (2018) marks the first full appearance of Knull, the primordial God of the Symbiotes and the King in Black.
Created by Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman, he rewrote the entire history of the Klyntar, forging the All-Black Necrosword and becoming the central antagonist of the King in Black event, one of Marvel’s most powerful cosmic threats.
With his cinematic debut in Venom: The Last Dance and director Kelly Marcel stating “the King in Black is way too powerful for ‘one and done’,” Knull is positioned for major future exposure, whether in expanded Sony projects or multiversal MCU crossovers tied to the Necrosword’s earlier appearance.
Will likely play out as a key issue with decent long-term upside.

Thanks to @rarefinds for putting me on the 2000 One Piece Hyper Battle Grand Box cards.
Why Grand Box?
The Grand Box cards are significantly rarer than the regular Stage sets due to being released as limited pre-constructed box decks (typically 38 cards per boxed deck). On the other hand, the Stage packs were high-volume due to being sold continuously through vending machines. Grand Boxes featured exclusive cards unavailable in the regular Stages and introduced the gold foil stamped cards, only three per release. One was the centerpiece of each deck variant making them far scarcer both at release and in today’s graded populations.
For the 2000 Hyper Battle release, there were 3 primary character First Year Appearances: Gol D. Rogers, Krieg, and Smoker.
The total PSA Pop for some of their Grand Box cards:
Gol D. Roger S74 - 4
Krieg Gold Foil C107 - 10
Smoker Gold Foil C203 - 7

In the mail today, I added my 2nd slabbed game:
2013 PS3 The Last of Us WATA 9.8 A+, First Print - Foster City Address
First print copies are identified by the Foster City, California address on the back of the case, which was Sony’s HQ at launch. Later reprints switched to the San Mateo address.

I think the Clay Mann × Dragotta foil “Shonen Jump” homage for Absolute Batman #25 has to be one of my favorite modern comic book covers.
It nails the Weekly Shōnen Jump layout (Japanese text, giant “popular characters assemble!!” energy, inset panels, classic manga credits) while delivering Absolute Batman and the rest of the roster in a high impact style all in foil.
Not surprising prices are jumping on the secondary market, but don’t FOMO. @ebay will be flooded with 9.8 graded copies in a few months.
Absolute peak variant. Top 5 modern covers?

Collector take: Riftbound is putting out so much “limited” product that limited is becoming ordinary.
T1/KDA sets, Best Ofs, Prizewalls, Nexus Nights, ON Signatures, Judge Promos, Worlds boxes, and more…. Saturation is effectively making limited very common.
When there are far too many options in a TCG barely 2 years old, it tends to push collectors away or pause buying due to being overwhelmed. I think that is why you are starting to see fatigue in the Riftbound market.
Too many options overwhelm collectors and create buying pauses. Just ask Costco… there is a reason why they limit consumers to just one or two brand options.
It has barely been a year since Origins launch and look how packed that chart is.
Player take: No issues. The TCG is doing great and growing.
BTW… Nice chart and I appreciate the work!

Riftbound Investment Tier List: Post-Market Crash Edition
Based on how I see these performing in the market over the next 18 months. Nuance is required, so don’t take this at face value. I think there are excellent buys in this market, as well as some traps still out there. This is currently a buyer’s market, so try to get the best deals you can and accumulate with patience.

Fake slabs should concern anyone buying six-figure cards, especially if it is not coming directly from the PSA Vault.
Current label and slab security features are not suited for $100k+ assets. Cert cloning is real, and the gap between what the security features stop and what sophisticated fakes can do is growing.
Others will surface.

Hey @collect, might want to check this one. Reddit user suggests nearly $300,000 Dragonite Expedition holo sold during Fanatics Collect premier auction is fake.
The user claims they submitted the PSA 10 with this cert for grading years ago and still have it in their collection.
Chooms!
Holding a sealed 2003 GenCon SoCal promo “Your First Run” starter deck from the original Cyberpunk CCG by Social Games. 60 fixed cards and rulebook teaching deck. Contains an exclusive Arasaka Corporate Sponsor, which was never included in retail sets. Limited convention giveaway with an unknown print run. Hard to find sealed anymore.
Social Games’ existence was short-lived. It launched the game in 2003, ran out of money, and dissolved before a second set was ever released.

The Ultimate Warrior’s final public promo on WWE Monday Night Raw on April 7, 2014, the night before his death:
“Every man’s heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe their final breath. And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them believe deeper in something larger than life, then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized by the storytellers, by the loyalty, by the memory of those who honor him and make the running the man did live forever.”
“You, you, you, you, you… You are the legend makers of Ultimate Warrior!”
