TGR Haas F1 Team reserve driver Ryō Hirakawa will replace Esteban Ocon for the remainder of the weekend’s Mexico City Grand Prix.
Ryō participated in FP1 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez on Friday, his third free practice outing of the season driving the VF-26, finishing 15th overall.
The Japanese driver will partner teammate Ollie Bearman through final practice and qualifying on Saturday and Sunday’s 71-lap grand prix – marking Ryō's Formula 1 race debut.

"i spoke to pierre yesterday. he was asking me some things for turn 6-7. i was like, 'okay, with pierre i can share things', and today he beat me- he beat all of us for pole, so yeah, i mean, i'm very happy for pierre.
i think it's a big, big surprise for everybody, but it shows that with these cars, especially on tracks like this, if you do everything perfect, then it can make a massive difference. i don't think they've got the best car, but i think they've done the best job today. and on a track like this, it makes a much bigger difference to other tracks."
