Thor's arc has been lost since Endgame. Love and Thunder left him raising Love with no real direction. To face a god-killer like Doom, he needs a god-level upgrade.
Thor fights Doom head-on. Stormbreaker. Bifrost. Everything he has. Doom defeats him. Thor dies on the battlefield.
Marvel already confirmed Valhalla is real. In Love and Thunder, Jane Foster arrived there after death and was greeted by Heimdall. Now Thor enters for the first time.
Waiting for him inside are Odin who dispersed in Ragnarok, Frigga killed in The Dark World, Jane Foster the Mighty Thor, and Heimdall killed by Thanos in Infinity War. Everyone he lost, reunited.
Odin reveals he's been holding the Odin Force even in death. The cosmic power that let him fight Celestials, hold back Surtur, and rule the Nine Realms. Power comparable to Galactus himself. He was waiting for Thor to be ready.

Why it fits: Love and Thunder set up Valhalla. Marvel has been building Thor to kingship since Ragnarok. Hemsworth has teased a transformed return. And the Allfather arc already exists in the comics.
If Doomsday gives us Allfather Thor, Secret Wars can give us Rune King Thor โ the most powerful Thor ever written, and the only one who can challenge Doom at his final form.
