What a movie.

రెండేళ్ల క్రితం భర్త గుండె పోటుతో చనిపోయాడు.
ఇద్దరు పిల్లలు వైష్ణవి(7), శాన్విక(6)లను పోషించుకుందామని సిటీకి వచ్చింది.
షాపింగ్ మాల్ లో సెక్యూరిటీ గార్డుగా పని చేస్తూ చదివించుకుంటోంది.
హఠాత్తుగా ఏమైందో మంగళవారం పిల్లలను తీసుకొని సొంతూరికి వచ్చింది. ఏడుపాయల అమ్మవారిని దర్శించుకొని తండ్రికి ఫోన్ చేసింది.
కుటుంబ భారం మోయలేక పోతున్నా. ఆర్థిక ఇబ్బందులు ఎక్కువయ్యాయి. నాకు చావే దిక్కు అని ఫోన్ కట్ చేసింది.
ఇద్దరు పిల్లలతో మంజీరా నదిలో దూకి చనిపోయింది.
ఇలాంటి ఆత్మాభిమానం కలిగిన ఆడపిల్లలకు అన్ని దార్లు మూసుకుపోయినపుడు మేం ఉన్నామని ధైర్యం చెప్పే
ప్రభుత్వ ఫోన్ నంబర్ ఒకటి ఉందా? ఈ ఫోన్ కు కాల్ చేస్తే అంతా వాళ్లే చూసుకుంటారని భరోసా ఇచ్చే వ్యవస్థ ఉందా?

The movie that firmly established Chiru as a star.
The plot was loosely based on First Blood, the first encounter between Chiru and Ranganath, the police station scene where taken from that.
Though the story was a typical revenge drama what made it really gripping was the writing by Paruchuri Brothers and direction by A.Kodandarami Reddy.
Also the action scenes were more raw and violent compared to the regular Telugu movie then.
One of Chiru's best performances to date, very intense and serious. This in a way established his Angry Young man image in Telugu cinema.
Madhavi gives good support and her chemistry with Chiru is damn good especially in the Ragulutundi Mogali Podha song.
1983 was year where Chiru firmly established himself as a lead star. And consider the variety of genres he did.
Family dramas( Magamaharaju), Mass Action( Khaidi), Legal Thriller ( Abhilasha), Comedy( Mantrigaari Viyyankudu), Spy( Gudachari No 1), Folk drama( Sivudu Sivudu Sivudu).
80s Chiru was a different actor altogether attempting different genres, stories and that is what made him so popular then.
