Indian cinema's international march began with a tramp singing on a Moscow screen, and now with an epic of gods and kings lighting up IMAX theatres across continents, the journey has never really been about borders. It has been about belonging. Ramayana is a fitting way to say it, in song, in color, in tears and in joy.

RAMAYANA is a fantastic film. A timeless epic told with the breathtaking grandeur of modern technology.
Seeing it on an IMAX screen in 3D, I was blown away by its cinematic magnificence. Yash’s Ravan was spectacular, Ranbir Kapoor’s Ram had great spiritual grace, Sai Pallavi was magical as Sita.
Worldwide audiences will be gobsmacked by this awesome film from India.
Congratulations to producer Namit Malhotra, director Nitesh Tiwari, all the brilliant cast, and everyone who created this film for the ages.

Few stories are older or more beloved. For thousands of years, the tale of Rama, Sita, Lakshman, Hanuman and Ravana has shaped the moral imagination of billions, travelling from India across Southeast Asia, where its characters live on in dance, shadow puppetry and temple carvings from Indonesia to Thailand. Namit Malhotra, who has spoken of setting out more than a decade ago to bring this epic to the big screen, has approached the task with the discipline of someone who understands tradition, economics and technology. He has built the film as a two-part saga directed by Nitesh Tiwari, with music by multiple Oscar winners A. R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer. Ranbir Kapoor plays Rama, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, and Yash plays Ravana, supported by a large ensemble that includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman. It is built for the biggest formats in cinema, including IMAX.
The world awaits Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana.

It was the middle of the monsoons in 1988. New Delhi was wet, humid, and indifferent to the dreams of its inhabitants. There was an unusual buzz at the Mass Communication Research Centre on the campus of Jamia University. The staff and students spoke in excited tones about a new student who had enrolled in the very exclusive MA program. That was when I first noticed him. There he was, standing in the foyer.
Ruffled hair, the top two buttons of the shirt undone, a thick military-style belt on his waist, stylishly holding a cigarette in his hand, and a determined, confident look on his handsome face. He was at Jamia, he said, to study film-making and was already getting offers to act in television serials for the State Broadcaster, Doordarshan. Then he sped off in his White Maruti Van. Some people know early where life’s heading. He seemed one of them. Inside him, there burned something that the city around him had no language for. And back then, no one knew this 21-year-old was going to be a superstar. Today, the world knows him as #SRK

Today is the birthday of Homi J. Bhabha, who is famous for his work on electron scattering and pioneering the nuclear energy programme in India!
One of Bhabha’s most well-known achievements was deriving the correct expression of scattering positrons by electrons, which became known as Bhabha scattering. He is often referred to as ‘the father of the Indian nuclear programme’. He earned this reputation from his role in establishing the Cosmic Ray Research Unit at the Indian Institute of Science (@iiscbangalore) and from helping to formulate India’s strategy in nuclear power. He played an important part in the formation of the Atomic Energy Commission in 1948 and the Department of Atomic Energy in 1954. He represented India at IAEA conferences.
The single biggest transformation on the planet in the last decade - amazing achievement by India 🇮🇳
