OK, so I had a smart mind to tell me how to acquire properties in Colorado and western hunting states to get my Hunters access to Hunting grounds that have previously been inaccessible due to terrain or over 7-10 mile hikes with rough trails.
Guys we are creating more access for hunters! And I think we finally figuring out how to expand and create a one of a kind hunting experience for public land hunters with OTC tags.
Btw this is me, we shot 3 elk and filled all of our Tags.
Rifle season is close. What are your trail cams telling you this week?
Cows at first light? Bulls only after dark? Nothing at all?
Drop what you're seeing (no spots) and we'll talk through what it means for opening morning.
Drop your 2026 bull or buck below. Tell us the state and how it went down.
We'll share some of the best ones this week.
Bull bedded on a north slope, 600 yards out. Wind is right.
If he gets up and feeds downhill, you've got a shot. If he crosses that ridge into the dark timber, he's gone.
What's your move? Wait him out or close the distance?
Same page. With the wind in our favor we'd rather be making ground than hoping he picks the right side of the ridge. How close do you like to get before you settle in?
Colorado OTC bull hunters filled about 19% of tags in 2nd rifle last year and 12% in 3rd, per CPW survey estimates.
Most go home without one. That's elk. The ones who fill usually knew where the elk were before opening morning.

Learned the hard way years ago: the elk aren't where you saw them in August.
Pressure moves them. Snow moves them. Your truck parked at the trailhead moves them.
Scout late, scout again, then hunt.
