Being nonchalant towards someone means acting like you don’t care about them or value them.
For example, if you’re in a relationship with someone you don’t love, you won’t care about what they do. Whether they text you or not, whether they give you attention or not, it makes no difference to you. That’s what being nonchalant looks like when you have no feelings for someone.
But when you genuinely love and care about someone, your feelings won’t always allow you to act nonchalant towards them. You’ll care about their attention, their presence, their actions, and how they treat you.
The truth is, it’s difficult to act like you don’t care about someone you genuinely care about.
Sometimes, what people call being nonchalant is simply a lack of feelings or a lack of value for the person involved.
