We're proud to share that Dr. Ross Levine, Chief Scientific Officer at MSK and Dr. @dana_peer, Chair of the Computational and Systems Biology Program at the Sloan Kettering Institute (SKI) at MSK, have been elected to the @theNAMedicine.
With these latest appointments, 30 MSK faculty members have now received this prestigious honor.

🚨👏Congrats to Drs Daphna Gelblum, Christopher Barker, Abe Wu of @MSK_RadOnc @MSKCancerCenter for being awarded #ASTRO26 @ASTRO_org fellows!

Research led by Dr. Agnel Sfeir’s lab at MSK identified a hidden structural weakness in rogue DNA found in aggressive cancers.
In lab studies, blocking the protein that repairs this DNA caused it to become unstable and gradually disappear from cancer cells.

🚨 The @FDA has granted “Breakthrough Therapy” designation to FMISO, a specialized imaging tracer that can help identify patients with #HPV-positive #throatcancer who may safely receive less-intensive radiation treatment.
“This has been an absolute game changer for treating certain people with throat cancers caused by the human papillomavirus or HPV,” says MSK radiation oncologist @imrtlee, who pioneered the approach.

Excited to share the results of the Codebook Project, an international effort to identify accurate DNA-binding motifs and genomic binding loci for >300 uncharacterized human transcription factors (TFs) nature.com/articles/s41586-0…
Excited to share that I've been awarded a K08 from @theNCI to uncover therapeutic vulnerabilities in ALT-positive cancers.
This wouldn't have been possible without an incredible community of mentors and collaborators, including Agnel Sfeir, @quaidmorris, Britta Weigelt, @TabarViviane, @SteveMaronMD, @simonpowell213, @imrtlee, and @xrtGenomics, as well as the outstanding training environment at @MSKCancerCenter and @MSK_RadOnc.
Looking forward to building a research program that leverages molecular biology, functional genomics, and computational approaches to understand the fundamental processes that drive malignant brain tumors—and how they can be targeted.

Can we predict which T cells recognize which peptides? A lot of the signal is hiding in AlphaFold3's hallucinations.
enFoldX: instead of one predicted structure, we use the whole noisy ensemble to predict TCR:pMHC binding.

✨ Inspiring to see @imrtlee representing ☢️ radiation oncology on the ASCO main stage.
Practice changing work reducing treatment toxicities and integrating radiographic biomarkers to personalize radiation

Today at #ASCO26: MSK radiation oncologist Dr. Nancy Lee (@imrtlee) shared long-term results showing that many patients with HPV-positive #oropharyngeal cancer were able to receive lower-dose radiation while maintaining durable outcomes and experiencing fewer side effects.

Sincere thanks to @ASTRO_org for championing physician-scientists and oncology research, and for supporting our efforts to understand and therapeutically target telomere maintenance mechanisms in cancer. @MSKCancerCenter @MSK_RadOnc #NationalCancerResearchMonth
Cancer research doesn't just advance science: it saves lives.
As we recognize #NationalCancerResearchMonth, we celebrate more of our talented investigators who are pursuing groundbreaking discoveries in radiation medicine to advance patient care.

Today in @Nature, the @genophoria & Vijay Ramani labs reveal that our picture of how nucleosomes regulate DNA accessibility has been too simple. They find that over 85% of nucleosomes in mammalian cells are structurally distorted, with DNA partially accessible even while wrapped.
Wrapped up #AACR26 with two presentations from our team on alternative lengthening of telomeres (ALT):
→ Phenotypic mapping of ALT regulation (Sfeir Lab)
→ Harshit's pan-cancer ALT landscape via ML using MSK-IMPACT (@quaidmorris)
Thanks to everyone who stopped by! 🧬🙏
