traders say one thing, 'artists' say another thing
at the end of the day the stats speak for themselves
the total marketcap of the top 10 tokens on ZORA is $32m, this is 6 months after zora launched on base and 3 months after zora started its parabolic rally
let's compare that to the top 10 tokens on VIRTUALS protocol which have a total marketcap of $600M.
you could argue that virtuals protocol has been around much longer which is true but virtuals has not received nearly the amount of support that zora has, coinbase/base has literally launched an entire app (base app) to try and bring up the volumes on zora
the $ZORA token itself has performed well if you had bought at the bottom (like I did publicly in July), but you werent a trader and were the VCs that invested $50M into Zora in 2022 you are only up 50% after 3 years (while BTC did ~300% in the same timeframe)
let's look at other metrics,
according to defillama the DEX volume on zora protocol was $66m over 30d and the annualized fees were $19m
a logical comparison would be to pumpfun as they are both very similar at a high level (basically token launchers)
pumpfun has 3X the marketcap of zora
but the DEX volume on pumpfun is $2.1b over 30d (31X more) and the fees are $341m (18X more)
i know alot of diehard zora fans are going to get mad at this tweet, there is 0 reason to as this tweet is simply presenting the facts as it is
An open letter to @base builder #001 from a fellow base builder
@jessepollak first of all, thank you for starting Base and taking it this far.
For me, it’s the best onchain eco to build and trade on. I personally appreciate the support you give to builders like me.
That said, I feel things are starting to head in the wrong direction. Not overall. In fact, Base looks stronger than ever and I’m more excited than ever to build on base.
But one particular part of the ecosystem is getting out of control.
Yes, I’m talking about the content coins.
I know you have a real passion for creators and attention assets. I’ve watched the video you shared on X to better understand your vision. I see the potential, and I respect what you’re trying to achieve. I hope it works out long-term.
But everything in life comes with trade-offs. When you focus too much on one thing, you inevitably lose ground elsewhere. Also, some ideas sound great in theory but don’t work in practice. or they’re simply ahead of their time.
I’m not questioning whether content coins should exist or be explored further. The issue is that the Base ecosystem is starting to suffer from the content coins you in particular are creating. The feedback on X makes that clear. And it’s not because content coins are inherently bad, but because you are the main character of Base.
„With great power comes great responsibility.“
Every tweet and action of yours is watched and judged. It reflects poorly on the ecosystem when you as the founder are seen launching a lot of coins that go to zero and/or diluting the ecosystem.
“Tokenize everything. Coin it.“ that’s a great vision and I fully support it. But let others drive the narrative on content coins for now.
Imagine other builders would launch more and more coins regularly. The outrage would be devastating and the community would leave and go somewhere else. I’m concerned this is going to happen with base too if this continues.
As the ecosystem’s founder, I believe - and I think many others agree - that you should take a more neutral stance. When the idea of content coins matures and adoption spreads, and literally everyone is coining everything, that’s the time to fully embrace it.
But pioneering it, should not be done by an ecosystem founder this big as you, in my honest opinion.
I know your goal is to make Base more open and creator-driven, and I deeply respect that. But I think the current market environment calls for restraint, so that Base’s long-term vision doesn’t get overshadowed.
Right now, the community feedback shows it doesn’t fit the current crypto sentiment. It’s pushing people away from Base, and that hurts the ecosystem. we all care deeply about this ecosystem and want to see it thrive.
In my opinion, if you shifted focus and support toward projects instead of content coins, the impact on Base would be a 1000 times greater.
I hope you take this as constructive feedback. It honestly pains me to see so many negative takes about Base on the timeline. Base has so much more to offer than content coins. I’m writing this because I want to help make Base the best onchain ecosystem out there for everyone.
That’s why I thought an open letter - respectful and genuine - is the right way to start this discussion.
Respectfully,
Lennart, Base builder #069

Robotics coins have been on a tear lately.
When we first looked into them, the sector was under $100 million. By the time our report dropped, it had surged to $250 million. Today, it’s already at $450 million.
Yeah, that's how fast it's growing.

What if you could supercharge your liquidity?
Instead of just swap fees, you could earn lending fees as well, while never having to move your LP around.
@omnipair is building the next generation of liquidity provision as we know it. 📃👇
So what is Omni?
TL;DR: Omni is a decentralized, immutable protocol on Solana for spot and margin trading, designed for permissionless isolated-collateral markets without the need for oracles, utilizing Exponential Moving Average (EMA) instead.
Omni allows anyone to lend, borrow, and trade any token with leverage, all from one Generalized Automated Market Maker (GAMM).
Omni brings a lot of innovation to the table. Let me explain how it all works.
GAMM is an advanced version of regular Automated Market Makers (AMMs) you are well familiar with.
They are used on-chain basically everywhere, mainly designed to allow for constant liquidity without a direct buyer, as we are used to with order books, which are used on CEXes and in TradFi and Forex in general.
AMMs aren't efficient; however, you have issues like Impermanent Loss (IL), but also have a lot of liquidity sitting idle, not being utilized as much as it could. This is where Omni steps in with their GAMM.
Compared to AMMs, GAMMs integrate constant-product AMM functionality with isolated lending logic. This enables a single pool to support both spot trading and margin borrowing without relying on oracles or centralized risk configurations.
Each pool holds a token pair with the following functions:
🔹Swap functionality via spot prices.
🔹Margin borrowing based on time-weighted EMA prices.
🔹Interest accrual via utilization-based dynamic rates.
🔹Liquidation through write-offs and streaming collateral.
Bringing borrowing and LP provision together brings risk with price manipulation, especially as any token can be used, even if the total market cap of this token is very low.
This is why Omni uses an exponential moving average. This means the price must remain at a certain level for a period of time before a liquidation can occur (to be set by the pool creator, must be at least three minutes).
EMA has its shortcomings, as users can anticipate upcoming liquidations and borrow against it, profiting from the upside once the position is liquidated.
Omni's fix to this is quite simple: dynamic fees.
If you take away the economic incentive, you take away the reason to attack.
By setting these fees only for new positions based on ongoing liquidation risks of existing positions and calculating fees for existing positions separately, they don't get an increased liquidation risk and cost just because another user is being liquidated.
GAMM is set to create the best trade-off between bad debt and borrowers' collateral risk, and EMA is an essential part of this functionality.
Using the mechanics provided by AMM pools, you're also able to leverage short or long any token by looping, which will create a lot of opportunity in the Solana ecosystem, especially considering that 95% of traded volume is from sub $1B market cap tokens, of which very few can be traded with leverage.
Omni is offering a multitude of services that are heavily demanded in crypto while also allowing liquidity providers higher yields on their assets.
$OMFG is the token behind Omnipair and is used as the governance token of the ecosystem, but there is a twist.
Omni is taking a novel approach with governance, allowing both token holders and non-token holders to influence different aspects of the protocol.
$OMFG holders can direct protocol-level settings like protocol fees, timelock durations, proposal costs, and required bond sizes, while other decisions are directed via Futarchy proposals.
This is how Futarchy proposals work:
1️⃣ A proposal is created with two or more policy options.
2️⃣ Prediction markets open; anyone can trade on which policy will perform better.
3️⃣ The market selects the winning outcome.
4️⃣ The winning policy is executed on-chain.
Most notably, Futarchy proposals decide whether new $OMFG tokens are minted and where treasury allocations are put.
Both can have a serious impact, although pool creators can veto $OMFG vote outcomes on their specific pools.
$OMFG is currently trading around a $5M market cap. Strong developers back the project, their product could change the whole ecosystem, especially on Solana, and I think they can be successful in getting the attention they deserve.
We've already seen large swings in market share happen fast on Solana, and I believe Omni can help folks to make use of that and even make the on-chain trading more efficient, making $OMFG an insanely good R:R bet on their success.
I hope you enjoyed this post 🫡
