Likely why there is a disconnect between Republicans and Democrats over deporting illegal aliens. Seems Democrats are only against deporting violent criminal illegal aliens whereas most Republicans favor deporting nearly all illegal aliens. Since being in the country illegally is only a misdemeanor most Democrats don't see this as sufficient enough cause. Their leaders thus chose santuary policies that don't cooperate with ICE at all, thus violent and dangerous aliens are allowed to run free again to commit more violent crime after their incarceration is complete.
