Black-throated gray warbler decides to pose for me. Shot from the bottom of the stair case near the trail at Wave Hill Garden. The Gardner told me they saw an uptick in membership ever since this bird and rufous brought you all to the garden. I live nearby. @BirdCentralPark

I made the trek up to the Bronx yesterday to see the vagrant Black-throated Gray Warbler at the Wave Hill Public Garden and was not disappointed! I got better looks than ones I've seen in CA and AZ! #birdcpp #NaturePhotography #BirdsOfTwitter #wildlife #birds #birdsseenin2026

Wave Hill Park, Bronx 10/23/26
Black Throated Gray Warbler - Difficult venue layout
with different levels & serpentine paths to navigate
each time the bird moved. One poor shot after 2 hours
but Bin users will get looks. Good way to sharpen your skills :)

Two ultra-rare vagrants at Wave Hill today: the continuing Rufous Hummingbird in the lower garden and a Black-throated Gray Warbler in pines below the garden.
A rare vagrant Rufous Hummingbird reported today in Wave Hill in the Bronx, north of the Hudson River overlook. Expect area birders to be visiting it, which will help in finding it.
