Don’t EVER let your printer know you’ve waited until the last minute and you’re in a hurry, because it can sense fear.

Mouth cancer rates in parts of Liverpool are x4 higher than the UK average. Spotting signs early could save your life. Andrew Schache, Professor of Head & Neck Surgery and Caroline McCarthey, Honorary Consultant in Oral Medicine, say what to look for. #MouthCancerAwarenessMonth

“I seem to have nearly perfected a tone of voice that veils vexation behind lustrous clouds of disingenuous patience; and the acquisition of a new social skill is always a blessing” David Bentley Hart - brilliant!

Six months into retirement and I have dropped curettes for this lot. The hoe is still there though 😁 I don’t want to even begin talking about the powered instruments!

My little rose bed #GardenersWorld . Wish I had kept a note of the orange rose variety. It blooms magnificently every year and has a fantastic scent. “Sceptre’d Isle” in the right background is also wonderful.

A magnificent morning in Athens, possibly the greatest wonder of the classical world and, as usual, the cats are owning it.

Retirement is off to a cracking start, first the common cold ruined Christmas and now @British_Airways is in the process of trying to scupper our new year holiday 😡
