Now that the midterms are over, I’ll say it: Progressive Democrats need a reality check. In 2024 the Dems lost ground with working class, Latino and younger voters. One post-election poll found 58% of working class voters thought Democrats had moved too far left. Ideological purity means nothing if you can’t build a winning coalition.

Brothers and sisters, our fearless youth have heard the stirring of our ancestors. They have put the groove back into our elderly spines. They have called us to stop our whining, rise from our resting suburban safe spaces, and remember what it felt like to fight.
Stop declaring what cannot be done. Realize that with God, all things are possible.
Do not give up because this nation and many others have given in to hatred many times in the last decade. That is a shadow we have known for as long as our African diaspora has existed.
