If you don’t know what you’re paying for, why would you pay the bill? Prop 41 requires the independent State Auditor to conduct financial and performance audits before new state special taxes go into effect. This gives CA the receipts to see where their tax dollars are going.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻? | 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀 Today, Charley is in downtown Los Angeles with SCWC founding member Metropolitan Water District for the finish of an incredible journey along the Colorado River. Water advocate and ultrarunner Mina Guli has spent the last 100 days running roughly 2,000 miles along the Colorado River, using every mile to bring attention to the river, the communities that depend on it and the need to work together to secure its future. Charley had the opportunity to join today’s conversation about what Mina’s journey has taught us: bringing people together around water can accomplish far more than working against one another. That’s a message that hits home for SCWC. California’s water challenges are complex, but progress starts when we get people in the same room, find common ground and work toward solutions together. Congratulations to Mina on an incredible journey, and thanks to MWD for bringing people together for an important conversation about the future of the Colorado River. #WhereInTheWorldIsCharleyWilson #KeepTheRiverRunning #CaliforniaWater #ColoradoRiver #CAWater

I joined the awesome crew at Fire Station 33 in Lancaster for a service call, getting a firsthand look at the work our firefighters do to keep our community safe. I met with their team and learned more about their equipment, including the jaws of life. As the busiest fire station in all of LA County, Station 33 sees firsthand the many challenges our firefighters face. I’m grateful for the opportunity to hear how we can support them better, and how we can work together to continue protecting the AV!
