The first global temperature data is in for the full month of September. This month was, in my professional opinion as a climate scientist – absolutely gobsmackingly bananas. JRA-55 beat the prior monthly record by over 0.5C, and was around 1.8C warmer than preindutrial levels.

I like to imagine a world where people care as much about the North Atlantic Ocean, as about a small vessel lost inside of it.

We're building a world of waste. The Bantar Gebang landfill outside of Jakarta alone stretches across 200 football fields.
It's time to move beyond linear systems to ones that are truly circular in nature: buff.ly/3m953T1

It hit 49C (120F) in Iran. Parts of India are 46C (115F). The Arabian Sea is practically boiling. This is all happening at just 1.3 degrees of warming.
How many more extreme weather events before we finally do we need to do to address this crisis?
No more delays. #ActOnClimate

Beef emits 31 times more CO₂ per calorie of food than tofu does. By cooking so many cows, we are cooking ourselves, too. Forgoing steaks may be one of the most efficient ways to reduce our carbon footprint econ.st/42spyZL
Good to see mandatory action for plastic waste and chemicals in food packaging in Australia from the federal govt!
