Teyen Bohnsack, who is Native, was supporting the unhoused community encampment yesterday where police were enforcing a @CityofEdmonton injunction to dismantle homeless communities. VIOLENTLY arrested by @edmontonpolice This force is out of line.
This footage is just before he was tased several times. He was later released from jail with a badly injured knee. Tax payers, this is where your money is going to- violence & displacement against vulnerable communities.

Turns out, I know Teyen. He is Blackfeet, a young Indigenous rights defender and land guardian. He wouldn’t hurt a soul. He was at @Gidimten teaching and learning off the land a couple summers ago – at Stony Plain, Alberta

It’s hard to believe there could be four bodies, killed by perhaps a serial killer, as possible evidence in a landfill, and the authorities are blocking anyone going in to look for them. Is this a Native thing?
My heart is in my throat. What’s happening in Winnipeg at the Brady Landfill blockade is so much more than meets the eye. The prospect of people being forcibly removed by police with an injunction; the Native women’s bodies in the dumps; their daughters demanding justice & on the frontlines; the bureaucratic coldness. It’s a catalyst moment for the inertia of the MMIWG genocide.
