I've had a couple such interactions lately and you know what it cost me? Nothing. Maybe some of my time, but I genuinely understand that people change, people say things in the moment they don't mean, misunderstandings happen. And holding that against someone forever is unfair.

Now. This is not to say that people are allowed to get away with things they *should* be held accountable for. Not every talk has to end in you accepting their apology or vice versa. Not every friendship can be rebuilt. And at some point, that just has to be ok.
