Dutch 🇳🇱 box3 tax on paper bitcoin is again on the table..
Assumptions
· You invested €10,000 in 2013 at €300 per BTC.
· That bought €10,000 ÷ €300 = 33.3333 BTC.
· Current BTC/EUR price used: ≈ €74,222
· In the annual-tax scenario, you pay 36% tax on that year’s paper profit at year-end.
· You pay the tax by selling BTC at the year-end price.
· Loss years produce no tax and no refund.
1. No tax at all
· BTC held: 33.3333 BTC
· Current value: 33.3333 × €74,222 ≈ €2,474,000
· Gain: ≈ €2,464,000
So with no tax, €10,000 becomes roughly €2.47 million.
2. Paying 36% tax every year on paper profits, by selling BTC
Totals in the annual-tax scenario:
· Total tax paid: ≈ €371,500
· BTC remaining: ≈ 4.21 BTC
· Current value: 4.21 × €74,222 ≈ €313,000
So instead of ~€2.47m, you end with roughly €313k after paying annual tax on paper profits by selling BTC.
3. Compare: paying 36% tax once at the end
If you held all 33.3333 BTC until today and then paid 36% once on the final gain:
· Final value: ≈ €2,474,000
· Taxable gain: ≈ €2,464,000
· Tax at 36%: ≈ €887,000
· After-tax value: ≈ €1,587,000
· After-tax BTC equivalent: ≈ 21.38 BTC
Bottom line
Scenario BTC held Current euro value
No tax 33.33 BTC ≈ €2.47m
36% annual tax on paper profits, paid by selling BTC ≈ 4.21 BTC ≈ €313k
36% tax once on the final gain ≈ 21.38 BTC ≈ €1.59m
The key point: annual taxation on paper gains is far more damaging than a one-time tax on the final gain, because you are forced to sell BTC every year before it can compound. The total tax paid in the annual model is lower. About €371,500 but your final wealth is much smaller because you sold most of the BTC along the way.
Opt out. Not tax advice.

Negatieve vermogensbelasting in Nederland? Was het maar waar. 😂

Netherlands new tax system 2028
Stocks: 36% realized gains tax

Current pensions are paid for by current taxpayers.
Now do the math:
- Ageing population
- Falling birth rates
- Youth unemployment
- Wealth leaving
It’s a time bomb that too many voters are either too dumb to understand or just want to pretend there is a magic money tree that fixes it.
The only solution is a combination of high growth and lower taxes.
A socialist government can’t deliver either.

🇳🇱 THE NETHERLANDS IS PROPOSING TO PUNISH YOU FOR OWNING YOUR OWN CRYPTO
Under the proposed 2028–2029 rules:
Hold actual $BTC, including in your own wallet, and you could pay tax on gains WITHOUT selling.
Buy a Bitcoin tracker through a broker, and tax on those gains would wait until you sell.
You could literally have to sell your Bitcoin to pay the tax bill while the tracker investor keeps holding.
What pisses me off is the incentive this creates.
Bitcoin finally lets you own an asset without needing a financial middleman. Then the tax system makes using that middleman the better financial decision.

Lekker gewerkt, jongens. Even een sector de nek om gedraaid 😑

TradingView has gotten so cocky.
According to their new rules (that they quietly snuck into TOS), I now have to pay a "small" $30,000/mo to share indicators with my community. Many of which have been given out for free.
Instead of making them more money, all this will do is drive power-users and community-owners off the platform.
If I were @tradingview - I'd be reversing this immediately and putting out a public statement.
AI is getting so good, there are more alternatives than ever.
This will push the competition (and users) even harder to build their own solutions, where they aren't beholden to monopolistic policy.

The government of the Netherlands has shown their cards:
You’re not allowed to possess physical gold & silver or #Bitcoin and #Crypto in self-custody.
You can, technically, but you’ll pay 36% unrealized capital gains on a yearly basis.
They want all of the control.
They don’t want you to own anything.
Avalanche's co-founder helped build a proof-of-work currency six years before Bitcoin...
Emin Gün Sirer (@el33th4xor) co-designed Karma at Cornell in 2003 with two of his students. His bios call it the first currency to mint coins through proof-of-work, though Wei Dai's 1998 b-money proposal sketched the idea earlier.
Karma aimed to stop freeloading on file-sharing networks by tracking what each user gave and took, long before Bitcoin introduced proof-of-work money.
In 2013, he and Ittay Eyal found a flaw in Bitcoin's mining rules. A group of miners could secretly hold back the blocks they found, then release them at the right moment to wipe out rivals' work. Even a minority of miners could earn more than they should. The attack is now known as "selfish mining".
He later co-founded @AvaLabs, the company behind Avalanche (@avax), and still runs it as CEO.

Many accounts bull post non-stop.
Then when they turn out to be wrong, they pretend like those that were right are bad people for "cheering against Bitcoin."
Basically, after losing the main argument, they create new arguments so they can dunk on those (straw man)
You can be pro-Bitcoin and just simply recognize there is a cyclical nature to it.
So many of these guys overcomplicate it by looking at random macro indicators like ISM, PMI, M2, etc. when all they ever had to look at was the four year cycle.

Bitcoin has gone down for almost 8 months now, and the four year cycle is playing out.
How is the "jury still out?"
Honestly, after promoting you a few days ago, I'm disappointed that you thought it was wise to tell your followers that anyone pro "four year cycle" is cheering against Bitcoin.
The people who got it right are not "anti Bitcoin."
They just were trying to help people understand the way the cycles work.
I tried telling you months ago and you told me I was wrong and that it was "not even debatable."
It's ok to be wrong about markets.
But it's not ok to pretend that people who were right are "anti Bitcoin" just because you don't want to face the reality that your views did not play out.

I respect Ben a ton and I think he is one of the very best Bitcoin analysts in the space, but he is wrong on this one.
The Bitcoin cycles are highly correlated to the business cycle.
It's not debatable; that's simply what the math shows.
That doesn't mean every single move is lockstep; it's not, and it's not the only indicator someone should be using.
But is it important? Yes.
Does it have more statistical and mathematical backing than 90%+ of the metrics and indicators people use for Bitcoin cycles? Yes.
Is it the be-all and end-all? No.
Is it an important tool in the toolkit? Absolutely!

Before Bukele, emergency dispatchers often heard people calling who saw gang members torturing & murdering their friends & family members.
Here’s an example of a young boy calling 911 as a gangster kills his mom.
Bukele now has the highest approval rating of all world leaders.
The homicide rate in El Salvador has plummeted from 106 homicides per 100 000 inhabitants in 2015 to 1 homicide per 100 000 inhabitants in 2025.
El Salvador now has the world’s highest incarceration rate, with 1.7% of the population behind bars.
Many of them are gang members who have been sentenced to life without parole and will never be let of prison. They won’t be able to murder anyone’s mom again.
@nayibbukele is up there with Lee Kuan Yew as the politician who has had the most impact on his nation in modern history.
