Capcom shut down SEGA vs CAPCOM fan project
"SVC is shut down because of using Capcom's characters and likeness, nothing else. With any fan game, that's the risk and we have no regrets making the game happen. Thanks to everyone involved in the project. Glad we reached a season 1 release. Overall, stay tuned!"

Former PlayStation boss Shuhei Yoshida says Japan Studio was shut down because Sony’s priorities changed to focus on AAA
According to Yoshida, Sony “wanted to drive hardware sales with games like God of War and Uncharted.”
As PlayStation focused more on big-budget AAA exclusives, there was less room for the kind of smaller, creative games Japan Studio was known for.
Yoshida also pointed out that the rise of indie games made it even harder for mid-sized AA titles to find their place.
Japan Studio gave us classics like Ape Escape, Gravity Rush, Patapon, LocoRoco, The Last Guardian, and also worked on Bloodborne and the original Demon’s Souls.

Sony says AI will be a bigger part of PlayStation’s future and is making it one of the company’s main priorities.
PlayStation CEO Hideaki Nishino said AI is already helping developers:
>handling repetitive work
>improving game testing
>supporting software development
>assisting with 3D models and animation
>enhancing PlayStation Store recommendations
>detecting fraud
Nishino said: “As a creative entertainment company, we prioritize our creators, with AI enhancing their work by removing repetitive tasks and enabling faster iteration and higher-quality outputs.”
“At the same time, we are experimenting at a more fundamental level with smaller, AI-first initiatives, while remaining realistic about near-term efficiency gains.”
Genuinely, what is there to be excited about for next gen
