Sugar went from glut to deficit in seven months. El Niño did that. Best quarter in a decade, and up 4% this week. $SB_F

October hike odds this week: about 70% on Monday, 50% after Williams, 37% after PCE, and now 26% after Jefferson said the Fed may need more time. Gold is holding near $4,218 into payrolls, with economists looking for about 90K jobs. Gold priced in the hikes fast on the way down. If they keep fading, that selloff could unwind just as fast. $GC_F

Soybeans hit a one-month low near $12.77 overnight. StoneX raised its US crop estimate to 4.648B bushels, drier Midwest weather should speed up harvest, and China is out all week for its holiday. $ZS_F

It's always great to have @PStreible on the show!
ICYMI: @PStreible joined @KitcoNewsNOW to talk gold after Friday's selloff: the levels he's watching, why he thinks a hike would be a policy mistake, and the one thing he'd hold into year end.
Worth the watch 👇

Gold rallied into October in 13 of the last 15 years. Phil Streible says the August 18 low is the line in the sand — $150 off a $600 run is a correction, not a top. A September hike would be a policy mistake the Fed has to undo. @PStreible @BlueLineFutures

We are partnering with @BlueLineFutures to bring you updates from the Pro Farmer Crop Tour now in Rochester, MN.
In today's Tour update, Jason Gehler, Market Analyst at @BlueLineFutures, breaks down news from results out of the Dakotas, Nebraska, and Kansas — and how they stack up against USDA's latest yield estimates.
Watch until the end for a look at December corn futures as the contract works to hold above the $4.90 level.

The corn market is adjusting to a tighter supply scenario. Maybe the euphoria sparked by the Crop Tour dies down but the grain markets have turned into a "buy the dip" situation, rather than a "sell every rally".
