Every year traffic crashes involving deer occur in Missouri. 🦌 Serious traffic crashes also occur when drivers try to avoid striking a deer in the roadway. Drivers are urged to stay alert and slow down if they see deer near the road. If a deer enters the roadway, try to remain calm. Panicking and overreacting usually lead to more serious traffic crashes.

🚛 Stay Safe on the Road! 🚗 Remember, tractor trailers have large blind spots called “No-Zones.” Avoid driving in these areas to prevent crashes. If you can’t see the truck driver in their mirrors, they can’t see you! #RoadSafety #TruckTips #DriveSmart

Leaving a few minutes early makes a big difference in a lot of ways. You're less stressed, in less of a hurry, and there should be less MPH on your speedometer. Take it slow and steady, it keeps you, your passengers, and all other road users safer 🐌✅

The forecast is looking better, but crews will still be keeping an eye on roads overnight.
Snow accumulation keeps trending farther north. Areas south of US Hwy 36 may not see any accumulation as rain transitions to a sloppy rain/snow mix early Friday morning.

ALT Rain will start to move into the area from the south this afternoon and evening. As temperatures cool, rain will transition over to snow or a rain-snow mix by Friday morning. Areas along and south of Hwy 50 will see mostly rain with wintry precipitation more likely further north and east. Highest amounts look to fall across northeast Missouri, but snowfall amounts will be highly dependent on Friday morning temperatures and even a slight change of 1 to 2 degrees will result in higher or lower snowfall amounts.
