He didn’t just hate the railway as such; he hated the way it flattered people with the illusion of progress. What was the point of scientific advance without moral advance? The railway would merely permit more people to move about, meet & be stupid together. -Julian Barnes $TWTR

I don’t blame MMs. I’m in awe of them. Intraday perfect channels that rise to a point and stop. $100 channel top must be sold at 12pm but by 2:30pm it’s the channel bottom and bought. Only MMs behave this way
I’ve seen this quite a bit as well. One of the easiest ways to identify someone who lacks real market experience is to listen to the narratives they construct around the market-making community. It’s a huge red flag whenever someone speaks about market makers as though they’re some divine hand from the sky that sees all, knows all, and controls every movement in the market. More often than not, these narratives serve as convenient scapegoats for price action that someone doesn’t fully understand. And when you actually tap the Street, examine positioning, or dig into the underlying data to validate those claims, they frequently fall apart. The irony is that market makers are often just as constrained by inventory, risk limits, adverse selection, and imperfect information as everyone else. They are not omniscient, nor are they some coordinated entity operating with a singular objective. Ultimately the “market makers are pinning the gamma bro” type of arguments are similar to the statements you hear from a fish blaming the dealer at the casino for “bad luck” on a few hands.

Imagine you have a $SPCX earnings call where you can talk in galactic terms then then next day you have to do a $TSLA call where all your past lies come due. Tiring. Elmo wants to buy TSLA just so he can compress the ER discussion into a paragraph and a Q.

$GM did about 10x the EPS of $TSLA and is $300 per share cheaper…. to be at stock price parity w GM w earnings 90% lower Tesla would fall 80% One can hope for Darwin eventually.
impressive from $TSLA - miss on revenue - 2.6% operating margins - energy, their big growth driver is -16% - automotive revenue -3% This is a car company who gaslights people into thinking it's an energy company and here we are with car sales down and energy sales down too.

Finally updated my Muse in honor of $META earnings. Defending my calendar like it’s the Alamo. Always brings donuts. Never forgets a birthday. Schedules chafing tray Friday lunches. Using AI to take us *back.*

In 2017 I was one of the very 1st $SOFI mortgage customers. They said if you took out a personal loan you got an 1/8th pt rate reduction. Took out a loan, got the mortgage, paid back the loan. Math was IIRC $12 in total interest paid to save $950/yr for 30 yrs.

Similar story in 2015ish I had a negligible student loan balance. Switched to SOFI off a friends' referral and something like $600 of cash bonuses were paid out for a remaining lifetime interest of $120. I was a happy customer.

April's double bottom overlaid on recent price action (and heightened to match bc price is almost 4x as high) Could be nothing $EXFY
And *that*, my friends in +100% in 3 months to the day. $EXFY Value investing can be both fun and rewarding! Nice things happen when stocks trade below cash. Great work on the buyback @dbarrett

Imagine $EXFY logs $7M FCF in Q3 (vs $6.4M Q2) Well now you're at $15.8M YTD w Q4 vs a $12-14M guide. So that will go up... $20-25M? Which at today's mult vs midpoint = +73% = $4.50 Which - if you annualize $7M for 2027 - is $49M => $9.99. Assuming mult stays same for 5xing FCF
CEO @dbarrett motivating $EXFY Q2 for a doubling in FCF in a single Q. Big budget Hollywood writing the speeches, producing the soundtracks, Apple and Pitt airing 3 hour free advertising. It's a good setup for Q3! +35% Friday

$NTDOY is going to be forced to re-release all the back catalog. If they add some sensible/additive motion controls (or just optional "Motion Mode") it'll be a better experience to just buy it on the S2. Like how Napster forced labels to sign an iTunes deal.

It’s funny how over time a “landscape” - inland natural scenery for large estates that could mimic it - became the upscale term for what is more akin to gardening: Weeding, laying mulch, trimming a few boxwoods, and mowing a 1/2 acre plot.
Landscapers have the best margins and stickiest contracts in real estate property management, and there no one else is even close.

Like calling hanging family photos an “art installation” or aluminum siding “modern public art construction.”

If I asked my “landscaper” to design a landscape or beautify my patio he would look at me like I was crazy. Ofc there ARE ones who do that. But it’s pretty impressive sounding title inflation, like “VP”.
