Over 400,000 Canadians used life-saving supervised consumption services (2017-2024). Staff responded to 55,693 overdoses. Not a single person died as a result. Over 470,000 referrals were made at these sites to health and social support services. #abpoli nitter.gq/JanetEremenko/status/1…
The UCP just can’t stop interfering with your access to health care - sometimes with dangerous consequences. Delivery of addiction care is the latest example, with doctors being villainized for wanting to prescribe certain medications… 🧵/1 #ableg #yyc calgary.ctvnews.ca/alberta-s…

Really want to highlight this takeaway: 550 people used the supervised consumption site in Q1 2024. Close the SCS and suddenly that's 550 drug users on the street. It would be great if they could all get treatment but that capacity just doesn't exist. #yyc #ableg

"I miss a deadline near the end of medical school because of an unconfessed passion to die, and am thus commanded to complete a remedial project on professionalism," writes @Sneilsonwwh in @CMAJ. Are we still treating learners in #MedEd this way? cmaj.ca/content/196/34/E1173 #ICPH2024
