This "Banned Books Week", please realize that this is nothing more than marketing propaganda. There is literally no such thing as a "banned book" in the US, and if you can make a store or library display of such books you yourself openly admit this.

Finally did the "My Nine Books" thing. I have tattoos from the top left and bottom right corner books... :D

Take a close look at these screens. Check them yourself in your own browser. Did you see the same thing I did??
I noticed something on Amazon yesterday that could play a direct role in book discoverability for both authors and readers...

The answer is in this post, btw... xitter.cf/BookAnonJeff/status/21…
Well this is interesting. Apparently Amazon no longer recommends free books on their main Kindle Deals pages. Every single book I see when looking today is 0.99 or higher, and if it is 0 it is because it is actually Kindle Prime and to buy is still 1.99 or higher.

Now apply this to climate "science" ;) (This book - by the guy who literally wrote some of the first books on computer based climate modeling - details more. May be *slightly* out of date (published circa 2020), but points largely still close.)
We can't brute force compute all possible moves in Go, a static game with a simple 19 x 19 grid, yet somehow people think we're going to simulate a dynamic system of trillions of cells each containing trillions of molecules.

"That said, I have nothing but UTTER CONTEMPT for the virtue-signaling evil warmongers who push for endless slaughter and offer no realistic solution to the conflict. May you burn in hell." A-FUCKING-MEN. I agree with that statement more than anything any actual US politician has said this decade.
Correct. Using Starlink, a civilian commercial service, for offensive drone strikes to kill people has never been allowed, nor should it be. Starshield, a different system, is controlled by the US government. What they decide to do is up to them. Ukraine military violated Starlink terms of service and used it for offensive drone strikes to kill people. That loophole was closed last week. Starlink remains critical to the defense of Ukraine, as it is the only system that cannot be jammed or blown up, at least for now. Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately. This is NOT a threat, it is simply a statement of fact. Starlink was also crucial to preventing Russia from overrunning Ukraine in the early days of the war, as all other means of communication were destroyed or jammed by Russia. SpaceX has done more to defend Ukraine than any private company on Earth BY FAR. That said, I have nothing but UTTER CONTEMPT for the virtue-signaling evil warmongers who push for endless slaughter and offer no realistic solution to the conflict. May you burn in hell. End of story.

Virtually everything you do online relies on an undersea cable connecting the continents to some degree or another - satellites can't carry *near* the data these cables do. This book looks at their history and current issues up to and including the Russia-Ukraine War.

There is drama on this site, and for once I felt compelled to write about it in longer form than a reply or QT... :D
Some thoughts on why @conservmillen is wrong that Christians should "not be fans" of horror. TL/DR: **HELL IS HORRIFIC** and Christians *SHOULD* preach this more!

This. (And same: re: books/ types of books in my library)
I have an extensive library full of all kinds of books. Including that one, the Communist Manifesto, the Satanic Bible, biographies of serial killers, and all manner of other evil garbage. We don't defeat evil by burying our heads in the sand. We defeat evil by understanding it deeply and confronting it directly. But I wouldn't expect an illiterate troll like this person to understand that. 🕯️

We lost a lot when Michael Crichton died. We lost nearly as much when Tom Clancy died. With Spielberg and Cameron now on the last days of their careers, we're about to lose even more. Fortunately, we have @ryanpatrickauth proving that he can be the next creator at their level.
Book Review: Crush Depth by Ryan M. Patrick. Michael Crichton And Tom Clancy Have Been Resurrected, Fused Together, And Mixed With A Pinch Of James Cameron, Jeremy Robinson, And Stephen Spielberg.

Elon loves marriage so much that he personally wanted to celebrate mine and my wife's 19th anniversary today. :D

Every data center fight has the same two meetings. The first one is packed and angry. The second one is five years later, about what to do with the extra money in the budget. Almost nobody shows up to that one.

With *this* title, I saw an opportunity and felt it 100% necessary to take it. A more profanity-riddled version of my usual review style... *specifically* because *this* book demands it. ;)
Book Review: Four-Letter Nation by Steven H. Jaffe (via Simon & Schuster). Fucking Comprehensive Shit Lacking A Goddamned Bibliography. Yes, the title of the review is intentional. With this book, it is necessary. ;)
