I lost my dad and a sister to suicide.
I was involuntarily committed twice, once for a suicide attempt and once for suicidal ideation.
I can't tell you how many times I tried to drink myself to death or put a gun to my head or tied my own noose.
I battled depression, anxiety and alcoholism for over 20 years and I knew with every fiber of my being that I would eventually kill myself or at least drink myself to death.
Then one day, the God that I had spent all of my life pridefully dismissing and disrespecting showed me that He was real.
That night, I got on my knees to repent and I dedicated every moment of my life to Christ.
He took it all away.
All the depression, anxiety and cravings. All gone.
I don't listen to the same music, watch the same shows, celebrate the same holidays or use the same language because I don't want any part of the world that spent so long keeping me depressed and anxious.
I want everything to be about the God that set me free!
I am proof that you should never stop praying for the ones you think might be too far gone!
Pray for them to surrender everything to our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ♥️

Rather than hide inside on halloween, we decided to be a light in a dark place!!
We set up a prayer station, gave out hot cocoa and popcorn to the kids (instead of more garbage candy), we gave out bracelets and coins with scripture on them and we gave out DOZENS of copies of the gospel of John!!!
We prayed with heartbroken families, men that smelled like booze, some rowdy teens and my girls even prayed with some kids their age.
Now the neighborhood knows that we're 'that house' and I feel so blessed that our neighbors now know they can come to us♥️
Matthew 5:14–16 – "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
What does celebrating Halloween teach children and what are we teaching every child who comes to our door?
As parents, we spend the entire year trying to protect kids from fear, violence, death, darkness, and evil. Then we decorate our homes with those very things, hand kids costumes inspired by them, and call it harmless fun.
I used to love Halloween, scary movies and the macabre/weird…. But for the life of me, now I have no idea why.
I grew up listening to the misfits and Rob Zombie. My favorite movies were the Friday the 13th movies and Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
Looking back, I can also see how all of it made me more comfortable with things like death and suicide.
Things that should have felt horrifying started to feel normal, familiar, even entertaining. I didn’t recognize what that constant exposure to darkness was doing to the way I saw life and death.
In hindsight, an atheist being drawn towards evil things doesn’t really even make sense. A question I never asked myself was, “If I know God doesn’t exist, why do I like evil things?” It seems like I was just rebelling against the possibility that God did exist so that I could feel comforted in living the way I want to live without fear of consequences.
Even just 2 years ago I had scary decorations up that I would tell our girls, “if they scare you, just don’t look at them.” DECORATIONS IN OUR HOME AND TELLING OUR GIRLS NOT TO LOOK AT THEM IF THEY’RE SCARED. Terrible and shameful.
Then Jesus came into my life and showed me how wrong it was. How wrong I was! I purged the house of all Halloween decor, scary movies and costumes. Straight to the trash. I even burned some old paintings that I made.
Take a minute and really think about what we’re telling God when we celebrate Halloween.
And think about what we are teaching kids.
We tell them Jesus is the Light of the world and then celebrate darkness.
We tell them not to be afraid and then decorate homes with things designed to frighten them.
We teach them that death is an enemy and then turn death, demons, graves, blood, and horror into entertainment.
We tell them to flee from evil and then hang up images of evil into the home and call it fun.
If you think it’s harmless, go walk through Home Depot and see the grotesque displays, then think about what decorations used to be when we were kids. It’s gotten out of control and we’re throwing our children to the wolves when we accept it as normal.
At some point, Christian parents have to be willing to say: not in this house.
Kids are watching what parents celebrate. They are learning from what we laugh at, what we decorate with, what we spend money on, and what we call harmless.
Following Jesus should actually change what we love.
There should be a visible difference between darkness and light.
Parents should be willing to choose Christ even when the culture is walking in the opposite direction.
We won’t be celebrating Halloween anymore and I hope you’ll consider it too. ♥️
There are plenty of ways to give kids joy, candy, costumes, laughter, and memories without teaching them to celebrate darkness.
Choose the Light.
Choose Jesus! ✝️
“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” - Joshua 24:15

Hey, guys. I just want to share with you that Jesus has saved me. And I know for sure that if he can save someone like me, he can surely save someone like you.
This gift is available to all. Literally nothing disqualifies you from receiving it.
Do you know the story of Paul? He wrote a lot of the Bible. But before that, he literally murdered Christians. Yes, he literally killed people for professing the name of Christ.
So, don't think you are too far gone or that you are too sinful for redemption. You are not. All of us are sinners. Every single one of us needs Jesus, and I certainly need him just as much as you do.
"Call on the name of the Lord and you will be saved." You know who said that? Paul... the guy who used to murder Christians.
We can be so prideful, that we find it impossible something like eternal salvation can be free. We think, "surely I have to do something to earn it".
Let me tell you, there is no amount of going to church, giving to the poor, or reciting Hail Marys that can get you to heaven, so don't even try. You can't do it. All you need to do is accept what Jesus already did. It is absolutely, 100%, completely free. Don't let your pride keep you from getting the best gift in the world at the best price. It's everything, and it is already paid for.
As long as there is breath in your lungs, it is not too late.
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.” - John 10:11–18
When you read the Bible, are you looking for yourself or for Jesus?
Is David and Goliath about finding your inner giant-slayer or about Jesus defeating the enemy you could never overcome?
Is Noah’s ark about learning to stay afloat through life’s storms or about Jesus being the Ark that saves us from the coming judgment?
Is Abraham and Isaac about what you're willing to sacrifice for God or about what God was willing to sacrifice for you?
The Bible isn't a collection of stories about how you can become the hero. It's the revelation of the Hero you desperately need.♥️

Isaiah was empowered with such confidence AFTER he felt the feeling of forgiveness.
Forgive someone today that has trouble forgiving themselves and they may end up saving the World.
Forgiveness is Divine.

Things we LIKE: this preaching from Pastor Jason Feeser of Calvary PHX.
"[False teaching is like salt water.] Amazing how you can die of thirst being lost at sea. It's wet. It's refreshing. It's cold. Feels like water. Drinks like water, but it actually kills you."
Will be having a conversation with a Jehovah's witness today that I met and wants to continue hearing my thoughts on Jesus being God.
Please pray for Tom and feel free to leave me any scripture and good videos or resources into a JW common claims. I don't know too much about why JW refute the Deity of Christ.
Thank you!
