For 362 years the Royal Marines have been one of the world’s most capable and versatile fighting forces — from the decks of sailing ships to modern amphibious and special operations. Proud, professional, and often wearing a dress. Here’s to another year of excellence. Per Mare, Per Terram.

Three of the UK’s four Vanguard-class nuclear deterrent submarines are currently at sea — the first time in around seven years that this many have been out together. At least one is on armed Continuous At-Sea Deterrent (CASD) patrol with Trident missiles. The other two are understood to be on sea trials or working up to take over the next patrol. The fourth boat, HMS Victorious, remains in deep maintenance at Devonport. After years of availability problems that forced extremely long patrols (often over 200 days), this marks a clear improvement in the fleet’s readiness. The MoD has zipped lips on the specifics, as expected. Lads at 43 Commando can spend some time honing their skills now there are no subs in camp to be watching over.

I thought after seeing the clips of Carrick getting praise and the immediate and powerful booing aimed at the players that the board might realise they will have toxic fans if they sack him now. Usually you can't change a whole squad, it's easier to change the manager. That club is rotten. Full rebuild needed like we did, but they don't have the money to do it, so I don't know what they do to try and fix this.

They give you £1.35 and take £135, acting like they're helping you out.

Ground Mobility Troop (part of CHF) prepare to fire defensive countermeasures from a Jackal. The Jackal features onboard smoke dischargers designed to rapidly deploy screening smoke to break line-of-sight during reconnaissance or fire support operations. These bootnecks will now be capturing and protecting areas for CHF to utilise for refueling and further operations.

You realise we have UAS that would be taking care of enemy drones? And our guys would probably do a decent job of it.
