They said Brexit would lead to mass unemployment. They said millions would be thrown out of work. They were ludicrously wrong then and they are wrong now. Don’t let them get you down - believe in this country and what it can do. 🧵3/3

We have been able to take a stronger line in foreign policy - from AUKUS to Ukraine. We chose a bold new destination for our country and it has paid off and will pay off hugely as time goes on. Don’t listen to the prophets of doom. 🧵2/3

Happy Independence Day folks! Remember Brexit has already helped deliver all kinds of benefits - from new free trade deals to the fastest vaccine roll out in Europe. We are doing things differently - from genomic editing to regulation of financial services. 🧵1/3

Exactly this. Conservatives can't even decide whether they are Pro development or not. The issue is they are torn between the Blue & Red walls.
On 5 June this year - two weeks ago - the Housing Minister told the Commons: "The Government are committed to building 300,000 houses across the country" Today the Tory Party is putting out paid ads attacking the Lib Dems for *the exact same policy*

When are we going to accept the Conservative Party is broken. The past month has genuinely been one of the worst months of governing in this country.

It wasn’t “mathematically impossible” for the motion to fail, as MPs could have voted against it. The successful motion means Boris Johnson is not entitled to an ex-MP pass. He was not suspended. He resigned before the Privileges Committee report was published. theguardian.com/politics/2023/… bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…

Again Andrew attempts to be a champion of Net Zero across his twitter but is also a backer of Gas & Oil? The Conservatives have failed to capitalise on our Oil and Gas reserves and you yourself turned on Truss for attempting to do so...
🔴🟡🫠 Labour & the SNP are all over the place on Oil & Gas 🥀 Labour "stop new licences, but don't cancel any licenses already granted" 🤷 SNP "grant licences but stay in power with the Greens who will close the industry" 🇬🇧💪 Only @Conservatives support our Oil & Gas industry

Andrew the Labour plan is the same as your own just more Green? A mere rebrand. You haven't prioritised SMRs like Boris did and you didn't support Liz Truss on starting fracking again. Same old conservative nimbyism.
How's that Energy Plan going @Keir_Starmer? No plan. No clue. Same old Labour.

It's almost amusing to see people claim Boris is unliked and finished & yet he is giving speeches to packed out rooms and the keynote speaker of the largest Right wing international organisation!

Fantastic energy in the room for the opening reception at the 40th @IDUAlliance conference. Let’s back democracy against autocracy everywhere we find it.

Stitch up. Kangaroo court.
Allan Dorans, SNP MP, wanted to save Margaret Ferrier - who endangered lives and broke Covid laws repeatedly - from a by-election by reducing her suspension to less than 10 days. He tried voting for Boris to be suspended as an MP immediately. Shameful double standards

Senior Tory source: “I'm very pissed off with Boris and want him to go away but this report is a complete joke. The sanctions are so ludicrously excessive and, Bernard Jenkin aside, I'm staggered that any Tory MP would vote for it. 1/2

And went on to say that now Boris has gone it's time to restore our relationship with Europe. Boris gone means Brexit goes.

Demands calling for Boris to be denied a former MPs pass to parliament are absolutely absurd & utterly unnecessary.
