9 months ago, me and my co-founder @freeguy__ started Bread Africa with a simple idea: Make crypto → fiat as easy as sending a text. No KYC. No sign-ups. No friction. Just swap and go. People said it wouldn’t work. Too early. Too risky. Too unconventional. We built it anyway. People used it. They shared it. They trusted it. That was all the validation we needed. Today, that journey hits a major milestone: Bread Africa has been fully acquired by @sirmapy of @smcdao and is now evolving into @SwapwithBread. This wasn’t just an exit. It was a strategic move. One that gives us the freedom to go all in on something much bigger. Because while building Bread, we realized something: Moving money isn’t just broken. the entire financial experience is. So we started again. Quietly. Relentlessly. Obsessed. Today, I’m excited to share: @BankwithLoaf is LIVE - and we’ve already onboarded our first 1,000 users. No noise. Just execution. Same philosophy. Bigger vision. We’re building for: • Borderless payments • Stablecoin-native banking • Seamless global transactions Not just for crypto natives - but for everyone. Because the future of money won’t feel like “crypto.” It will just work. Massive thanks to @Sir_Damilare, @jessepollak of @base, @Uyoyo_O of @cngn_co @Harri_obi of @SuperteamNG and everyone who believed in Bread Africa from day one. You didn’t just support a product - you helped start something real. And we’re just getting started. If you’re building, investing, or thinking about the future of money in Africa. Let’s talk, This is still Day Zero from our end.
Happy to share that SMC has successfully completed the full acquisition of Bread Africa. Bread is an off-ramp solution that enables seamless swapping of crypto to fiat. As part of this new chapter, it will be rebranded to Swap with Bread (@SwapwithBread). We’ll be placing the platform in maintenance mode as we rebuild and expand its capabilities. Upcoming features will include: Fiat to Crypto swaps Crypto to Crypto swaps Airtime to Crypto swaps We’ll also be integrating @stablenaira, alongside continued support for other stablecoins. Bread will remain that seamless web-based app with no sign-ups, wallet connections, or KYC required

TipMe - Developer Notes #04 🛠️ One of the things we've been intentional about while building @usetipme is simplicity. We don't want to build another platform that gives people more things to remember, more processes to figure out or more friction before they can access what belongs to them. That's why we've been rethinking the conventional email-and-password approach to signing in. We're implementing OTP-based sign-in, allowing users to access their TipMe accounts using a one-time password sent directly to their WhatsApp, email or phone number. Think about it: you shouldn't have to remember yet another password just to access your tips. You shouldn't have to worry about forgetting your password, going through complicated recovery processes or being locked out of your account when you need it most. We want accessing your tips to be as simple as receiving them. We're also paying a lot of attention to the dashboard experience. From the moment you sign in, everything should feel straightforward. Whether you're checking your tips, monitoring transactions or managing your account, you shouldn't need a manual to figure things out. Our approach is guided by one of the fundamental principles of great product design and development: First Principles Thinking. Strip away the unnecessary. Question every extra step. Understand what users actually need, then build the simplest possible solution that gets the job done. We believe great technology shouldn't make life more complicated. It should quietly make things easier. And here's the exciting part: TipMe will be fully live today! 🚀 It's been a journey of building, testing, fixing, listening and making decisions, sometimes having to go back to the drawing board to get things right. We're excited about what we're putting out there, but even more excited about what TipMe will become as more people and businesses come on board. We're just getting started.

TipMe - Developer Notes #03 🛠️ We’ve been live since October 27, but we’re not quite where we want to be yet. As some of you may have noticed, a couple of things on the website are still not functioning as smoothly as they should. We’re currently waiting on AWS for its final feedback and approval before we can fully stabilise everything and move forward with the complete rollout. While we wait, we haven't been sitting around. The team is actively working through other areas of the platform, fixing issues, improving existing features, testing different user journeys and making sure that when people interact with @usetipme , they get an experience that feels seamless. Beyond the technical work, we're also having conversations with more users, business owners and fellow builders. We want to understand how people intend to use TipMe, what they expect from it, what could be better and what we're probably not seeing from our side of the screen. One thing we've come to understand is that building a product goes beyond writing code and pushing updates. Sometimes, you have to slow down, listen, question certain decisions and make improvements before moving to the next stage. Our goal isn't just to launch TipMe. It's to build something people can genuinely rely on, whether they're individuals receiving appreciation or businesses using TipMe to understand their customers and improve their operations. So yes, we're live, we're building, we're fixing, we're listening, and we're making progress. We know everyone is eager to get started, and we appreciate the patience, feedback and support so far. We'd rather take the time to get the foundation right than rush something we want people to use for years. Back to building. 🤞

TipMe - Developer Notes #01 🛠️ We didn't go live yesterday as planned. During our final checks, we identified a few things that needed to be cleaned up, refined, and tested properly before opening TipMe to the public. Rather than ship something we're not completely happy with, we've decided to take a little more time to get these final details right. We're currently working through the improvements, testing the experience, and making sure everything is ready for our first users. New target: 24 hours. ⏳ Here's a little look at what we've been building. 👀 We're almost there. Thank you to everyone waiting, asking questions, and showing support. We'd rather take an extra day to get it right than rush something you deserve to experience properly. TipMe. Appreciation Pays. 💜

10 hours to my birthday. 🎂❤️ A few days ago, I mentioned here that I had been exploring a new product idea. Well, I'm excited to share that we're finally ready to take the first step. In less than 10 hours, @usetipme goes live for the public. We've completed the B2C side of the product, and it's ready for people to start using. The B2B side, which is designed to help businesses and their customers appreciate their teams, understand customer service better, and recognise the people who go the extra mile, is still being tested. If there's one thing building companies has taught me, it's that every new year of life comes with its own lessons, challenges, growth, and opportunities. I'm grateful for everything my current age has taught me, the wins, the losses, the mistakes, the people, and the experiences that have shaped me into who I am today. As I step into a new age, I'm choosing to keep building, keep learning, keep taking risks, and keep bringing ideas to life. TipMe is one of those ideas I'm incredibly excited about. We're building around something simple but powerful: making it easier for people to appreciate the people who make a difference in their lives. And now, we're almost ready to let you experience it. Tomorrow, on my birthday, TipMe will be available for public use. And honestly, I can't think of a better way to celebrate another year of life than by putting something we've worked on into the hands of real people. So here's my little birthday request. 🥹 If this post finds its way to your timeline, please like, repost, quote-tweet, and help me spread the word. If you have a community, a business, or friends who might find TipMe useful, please tell them about it. And when we go live, don't just watch from the sidelines - come try the product yourself. Your repost could help us reach our first user. Your feedback could help us build something better. And your decision to try TipMe could mean more to me than you realise. No expensive gift, no elaborate celebration. Just help me put this product out into the world and give it a chance to grow. That would be one of the best birthday gifts you could give me. ❤️ See you in 10 hours. We're just getting started. - DR7

This incident that happened yesterday made me realize that a lot of people using @BankwithLoaf knows my handle and they have my personal WhatsApp contact, but the most beautiful thing was they weren't calling or texting to yell, they were reaching out to know what went wrong.
Yesterday, @BankwithLoaf had an issue that kept the app from opening for a few hours. As a Loafer, I know how frustrating that can be, and I’m genuinely sorry. Thank you to everyone who reached out. We’re back. ❤️ Go ahead and spend your crypto globally. 🌍

In anything you do, get good investors. Not just people that will put in the fund, but people that believe in what you are building and using their own expertise to lift it.

My respect for salespeople has gone 1000x in the last 30 days. The truly great ones are hard to come by. It’s not a purely technical play, so it’s kind of hard to navigate as a technical person.

I’m glad to be hearing this from a technical person. And I believe more and more people are coming to the realization that salespeople are the very backbone of whatever they are building.

Most founders I know are solving money problems inside the same bubble - I want out. I’m looking to talk to founders in LATAM, SEA, MENA, Eastern Europe markets. What are you building, we can compare notes and learn from each other. Reply with your startup + region.

let me re-introduce myself when you hear “queenie”, what comes to your mind? here’s what i want to come to your mind: > she’s in love with crypto and technology. > she’s obsessed with discovering tools and projects that solve problems you didn’t even know needed solving. she’s a social media manager, so she naturally pays attention to how projects position themselves, communicate, build communities and tell their stories. and she can usually tell when a project has what it takes to do well or is most likely not going to make it. most importantly, when she finds something interesting, she doesn’t just keep it to herself. she breaks it down in a video, simplifies the complicated parts, and makes it easy enough for anyone to understand. that’s queenie. that’s ME!!!! curious. always discovering. always learning. always finding something new to show you. and if you’re a founder reading this and you kinda struggle with figuring out whether your project will actually do well… just DM me i’ll boost your morale lol, just kidding but seriously, reach out. let’s get the stuffs done. ❤️
