Leadership, especially leading Kenyans, requires special anointing... Picture this... 1. You are the president, with a manifesto to implement... ...only for those who lost the election to insist they must teach you how to run the country. Attempts to implement your manifesto is met with violent street protests and endless litigation at the court. You are supposed to run the country based on resolutions from social media. If you say well, let's do it your way.. the same people accuse you of being a liar who can't implement his manifesto. If you ignore them and focus on service delivery, the same people go to streets because you are a dictator. You are opposed when you try to implement your manifesto and called incompetent when you don't 2. You are a Minister in charge of Roads, Health or Education...you spend days lobbying for additional budget allocation to finish roads, hire doctors and hire teachers. Only for you to see contractors, medics and teachers in solidarity with those opposed to anything that generates additional fund. They are opposed to additional funds, but expect to be employed and paid. Failure to do the roads, pay medics and hire teachers, they'll demand your resignation/sacking or go the streets to demand their "right" 3. You are a Member to f Parliament who understands how critical CDF and NGAAF are in helping the national government decentralize resources... You lobby and actually get additional funding for CDF, more allocation for Water and Electricity Only for the same constituents to burn your home and businesses. How dare you lobby for additional resources? Kwani wewe ni nani... Remember, the same people will kick you out of office for failing to lobby for more resource to the Constituency or county. Refer to what they use to call Kibaki when he was President. Kibaki was the worst President according to Kenyans then... Today, Kibaki is the hero! We complain because we have to complain and our leaders are guilty until proven innocent (once they leave office). And of course, we want Kenya to miraculously turn into Singapore without any effort from us and without new policies. Yaani, leading Kenyans means saving them from themselves. And that, ladies and gentlemen, requires special anointing especially when the people you plan to save are all-knowing!
