There's nothing wrong with right clicking an email from a repeat offender and selecting the "Always Move Messages From" feature in the Rules option. Just don't select "Junk" as the folder for matter-related emails - there are better options (even if it may not feel like it!).

Life lessons from cats: If you want something, just keep sitting on it until it's yours. If that doesn't work, hide it under the couch. If all else fails, start howling until it's returned to you. Persistence is key (...to keeping the straw you stole from the iced coffee cup).

Sometimes people make the mistake of thinking that because I’m nice that they can take advantage of me. I’ll try a few times to work with people reasonably and collaboratively. After that, you get my lawyer, and they’re much more aggressive than I would ever be with someone.
I have to move again this year (current place is selling). The shenanigans of Toronto landlords wanting loads of cash up front and playing a game where they don’t “ask” for it (but make clear you can’t get a place without it) is something the government really needs to address.
I’m looking forward to working with Cindia this summer! She’s in for a packed few months of complex research and motions advocacy.
It’s that time of year again: Explaining to people that their civil litigation matter is not urgent just because there’s a long weekend approaching or they have summer holidays on the horizon.
We have law students worried about good character requirements bc of minor charges, lawyers scared of consumer proposals after divorce ruining their careers, but people like this continuing to practice law. Make it make sense.
