Many investment plans put on pause are being postponed to a later date, or even canceled entirely. All of this, of course, increases the risks of long-term market imbalance. In these difficult conditions, given the growing demand for gas, its global producers must ensure stability and reliability of supplies, guarantee customers heat in their homes, fuel for enterprises and power plants, and raw materials for chemical production and for the manufacture of fertilizers and new materials. Russia is one of the key participants in the global gas market. We hold first place in the world in natural gas reserves and second in its production. We have created a unique production complex that allows us to diversify gas supplies and to develop its processing and gas chemistry. We use this powerful resource, scientific, and industrial base to grow the national economy while also serving as a responsible supplier of gas abroad and a reliable, predictable partner. Yes, in recent years Russian gas companies have faced certain difficulties, including restrictions imposed by some countries. In this regard, I reiterate: any attempts to exclude Russia from the global gas market or to hinder the development of this industry in our country have serious consequences. First of all, growing exorbitant costs for foreign end consumers of gas — companies, enterprises, and households. This is exactly what we are seeing now. In Europe, which is dealing a blow to its own industry and social sphere by turning away from Russian energy sources and breaking long-term contracts. You know, there's a Russian proverb — don't dig a pit for someone else, or you'll fall into it yourself.
