Larry Krasner just had a public meltdown at his press conference!! The local media even pressed him on his rant!! Bravo to John Paul of 6ABC for not accepting the garbage he was spewing. I encouraged you all to watch that Press conference. It is painfully excruciating, however, worth to see him fall apart.

A rare bad PR fumble from a very well run organization.

What’s going on in Philadelphia?
Suspect Eric Lewis isn’t just tied to the death of Officer Shane Seiber. The family of the late 32-year-old Christopher Williams is also speaking out about what appears to be a web of tragedy, and a lack of accountability from Philadelphia leaders.

All the leverage exacerbates volatility catching the weak and lazy with a quick correction which then creates forced selling. Hence large moves in huge companies defying logic.

NEW Buried at the bottom of DA LARRY KRASNER’S (@DA_LarryKrasner) news release was a video from him - in it, he spoke about a previous homicide involving Eric Lewis. Lewis is the suspect involved in the deadly ambush of Philadelphia police officers over the weekend.
Larry Krasner was supposed to have a news conference today, but it was cancelled and we don't know why yet. But here is Krasner’s full video for you to watch.
Beneath this post is a thorough, bulleted breakdown of what Krasner said in this video. But in sum, DA Krasner says Eric Lewis was out in the community despite being a defendant in a previous homicide case because of a, "troubling and deficient investigation." done by the Philadelphia Police Department @PhillyPolice during the previous case
I’ve reached out to Philly PD for comment

We are told Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner has cancelled his scheduled 11 a.m. news conference which was supposed to detail Eric Lewis' criminal history. We are told that instead, a news release will be distributed.
The @PhillyInquirer reported late yesterday that supect Eric Lewis was acquitted of murder back in 2023.
The Philadelphia Enquirer (@PhillyInquirer) has obtained an arrest report which says suspect Eric Lewis told investigators he shot the officers because they were White. The outlet also says Lewis said he had a right to defend himself because the officers had guns. The suspect has been arraigned on more than 70 charges in connection to what investigators say was an ambush shooting which killed Officer Shane Seiber and left another officer struck 12 times.

PHILADELPHIA POLICE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO CONTROVERSY OVER PREVIOUS MURDER CASE INVOLVING ACCUSED OFFICER KILLER
PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Police Department has issued a statement emphasizing accountability and support for grieving families amid renewed scrutiny of a 2023 murder prosecution involving Eric Lewis.
Lewis, 35, is currently charged with murdering Philadelphia Police Officer Shane Seiber and seriously wounding his partner during an October 10 shooting in West Philadelphia.
Lewis was previously acquitted of the 2019 murder of Christopher Williams following a 2023 trial. Questions surrounding that investigation and prosecution have resurfaced following Officer Seiber’s death.
In a statement provided by PPD spokesperson Sgt. Eric Gripp, the department said Commissioner Kevin Bethel’s position remains unchanged.
“We will continue to examine every aspect of this matter, including the prior investigation and prosecution. Where accountability is warranted, we will act,” the department stated.
The department also pushed back against assigning blame while the families involved are grieving.
“True leadership does not seek to assign fault in a moment like this. It stands with the families.”
PPD indicated that additional information will be released at a later time, but stressed that its immediate priority remains supporting Officer Seiber’s family, the recovering officer and his family, and department members mourning the loss.
The statement comes amid public debate over how Lewis’ earlier homicide case was handled and whether investigative or prosecutorial failures contributed to its outcome.
Lewis is presumed innocent of the current charges unless proven guilty in court.

NEW Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner shares news release confirming the suspect in the ambush shooting of Philadelphia police officers, Eric Lewis, was previously charged with murder following a 2019 "road rage double shooting". Krasner says Lewis was later acquitted by a judge. The DA suggests the judge had no choice, writing that the judge was, "forced to find Lewis not guilty due to that troubling and deficient investigation." The DA doubles down, pointing a finger at a @PhillyPolice saying there was a "flawed investigation" done for this murder case. Full news release below.

District Attorney Larry Krasner Provides Information on Prior Criminal Record of Defendant Eric Lewis and the DAO’s Commitment to Seeking Justice for the Police Officers, Families & Community Impacted
PHILADELPHIA (October 13, 2026) — The following is a statement from Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner:
On behalf of the 650+ prosecutors, sworn law enforcement, victim advocates and support staff at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, we stand with local officials, faith-based and community leaders in extending our thoughts and support to the family of fallen Philadelphia Police Officer Shane Seiber and all other law enforcement who are physically and mentally recovering from this weekend’s horrific violence against sworn Philadelphia Police personnel. We are actively working in coordination with President Roosevelt Poplar and the leadership of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #5 to extend victim support services to impacted Philadelphia Police Officers and their families now and moving forward.
The DAO’s External Engagement & Government Affairs Division, including the C.A.R.E.S. Unit (Crisis Assistance Response and Engagement of Survivors of Homicide), Victim Services Unit and Community Engagement Unit are jointly and actively engaged with everyone affected by this weekend’s violence along the 100 block of North 52nd Street. Gunfire, wounded police personnel, loud sirens and chaotic crime scenes can overwhelm residents of any community across Philadelphia. We are working with our external contracted victim services providers to ensure critical support services reach those in need.
We are aware of several reports of 911 calls and other potential complaints of violence (including domestic violence) involving this defendant. Our team is working to make contact with any potential victims and encourage anyone with information to contact the DAO’s Victim Services Unit at 215-686-8027 or the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-TIPS.
This weekend, defendant Eric Lewis was charged with Homicide of a Law Enforcement Officer, Murder Generally, Attempted Homicide of a Law Enforcement Officer (10 Counts) and related offenses. The defendant will be held in custody and, by law, is ineligible to post cash bail.
Previously, defendant Eric Lewis was charged (based upon probable cause) with Murder generally, Aggravated Assault (F1) and related offenses following an August 31, 2019, "road rage" double shooting. The excellent prosecutors involved did everything humanly possible with a deeply troubled investigation. A highly-respected judge was forced to find Lewis not guilty due to that troubling and deficient investigation.
Immediately following the verdict, the judge notified all counsel that due to the egregious and troubling conduct by sworn Philadelphia police personnel in investigating the case, he would be writing to the Philadelphia Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division for review and disciplinary consideration. He specifically noted that the prosecutors had done all they could with the flawed investigation. We believe this is the only instance in this distinguished judge’s career of his engaging Internal Affairs to address police misconduct; we understand the judge’s family and personal history connect to working as sworn law enforcement.
All questions regarding the relevant law enforcement personnel’s conduct, its impact on the court’s decision, and the outcome of this Internal Affairs investigation can be directed to the Philadelphia Police Department (reference IAD #23-1541).
In 2021, defendant Eric Lewis was also charged with assault and gun offenses in another matter. The case was successfully held over for trial by our office but never went to trial due to the death (by natural causes) of the key victim/witness.
On this new case involving murder of a police officer, wounding of another (with 9 additional police officers endangered by gunfire), the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office is deeply committed to holding Defendant Eric Lewis accountable and fighting for justice for those impacted by these very serious and violent crimes. These cases will be prosecuted with integrity, vigor, fairness and determination by very capable prosecutors in the DAO’s Homicide & Non-Fatal Shootings Unit, under the leadership of Assistant District Attorneys Jeff Hojonowski, Lauren Crump and Christian Wynne.
Philadelphia, we will get through this very difficult time, together!
We will seek justice, together!
We will heal, together!
Yours In Community,
Larry Krasner
Elected Philadelphia District Attorney
