Introducing Automated Token Portfolios (ATPs).
The first institutionally managed strategies that live directly in your custody.
Today, @Bitwise is launching the Mag7X, the first in a series of ATPs.
Today, Bitwise is launching Automated Token Portfolios (ATPs): institutionally designed model portfolios for tokenized stocks that live directly in your crypto wallet—powered by @Coinbase Tokenized Stocks.
Bitwise designs the model, you hold the tokenized stocks in your own wallet, and @Glider__ keeps your holdings aligned automatically, without ever taking custody.
Only available to non-U.S. persons (as defined in Regulation S of the Securities Act of 1933) in eligible jurisdictions outside of the U.S. 🧵
The word “crypto” is still a red flag.
Adding “backed by a16z crypto” to our website and X actually did more harm than good. We scrapped it a long time ago.
If you’re still using “crypto”, it’s time to pivot.
As we’ve seen with assistant agents like Muse and Instinct, you cannot expect 3rd parties to permit agent access. (i.e. Amazon banning agents).
The same goes for brokerage. Every agent building for Robinhood, Fidelity, or other brokerage accounts is one step away from obsolescence.
Permissionless or bust.
.@andrewhong5297 continues to be at the forefront of onchain finance.
While we may not agree on everything (people rarely do), we both want to grow the onchain investing space.
There are decades of learnings from traditional finance that have shaped it into what it is today. The goal is not to reinvent, but to replatform.

Most people follow other people’s opinions when it comes to trading and investing.
So if your trading app does not natively show your users “other people’s opinions” about what they are trading, it means they are getting it from somewhere else (news, scrolling X, etc.) and they are splitting time between your app and someone else’s.
I expect zero traction on the OKX x ICE joint venture.
Irregardless of these companies opting out of tokenized versions of their shares, there is no maker or taker demand. No professional market maker wants to use AMMs (they are not capitally efficient). And investors/traders already have traditional access, why would anyone look for an alternative? (As a reminder these stocks are permissioned with no DeFi composability).
The even bigger problem: it’s anti-American to settle stocks on xLayer, a corporate offshore chain.
ICE you could have chosen a neutral chain like Ethereum or Solana. Now, instead, every trade benefits a non-American corporation.
In the end, @coinbase, @RobinhoodCrypto, @Ondo, and @xStocksFi permissionless equities will win. It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when. And btw they are already winning: just look at their market share vs. permissioned competitors.
We continue to focus on what I call "back-door" problems in onchain finance rather than "front-door" problems and it's severely limiting adoption.
Back-door problems:
- Options (@DeriveXYZ)
- Tranching (@roycoprotocol)
- STRIPS (@pendle_fi / @ExponentFinance
- @papertrade_xyz
- Exotic stables (@ethena, @SkyEcosystem)
Front-door problems:
- Onramping money
- Removing anything to do with crypto (chains, gas)
- Abstracting anything to do with wallets
The back-door problems, while innovative, compete for the same set of onchain users. They do not expand the TAM. Many of them are niches within niches.
Rather than refining your protocol, you are better off figuring out a way to grow the TAM via front-door problems. If not, I predict you will be replaced.
In fact, I predict many of these protocols will be replaced by apps that solve "front-door" problems.
In a few years, we will look back and say, "Remember that era when we all had chrome extensions and physical hardware wallets." I see no world where that becomes the norm.
The companies that solve front-door problems will be the ones that dictate which back-door companies survive. You have been warned.
A great example of this is Lighter and Robinhood.
While the relationship exhibits mutualism today, Robinhood has solved front door problems, while Lighter has solved back door problems. Like what happened to Kalshi, I expect Robinhood to also cut out Lighter.
Lighters time is best spent solving front door problems than anything else.
Extractive trading apps can only go for so long. Eventually the gig is up. No more users you can skim.
When you build an app where your users actually earn, they stick with you. The app wins when they win. Wealth generation.

Who provides ACH onramping to stablecoins in New York?
Looking for a provider who can faciliate onramping volumes in the millions.
CT do your thing.
Chains are realizing that narrative chasing and speculative assets can only take you so far.
I’d much rather build a long term sustainable business disjoint from cycles.
Narratives come and go. Investing never goes out of style.

You can't trust PNL for a single account / wallet on any app or exchange.
For example, this is my hedge wallet on @OndoPerps.
I'm up big on the other side, but it looks like I'm running this straight into the ground.

Tokenized equities went from under 0.05% of stablecoin supply in Jan 2025 to ~1.1% by late Sep 2026.
Most of it came this year. The chart sits near 0.17% in January and 1.09% at the end of September, about 6x in nine months.
Stablecoin supply grew in the low single digits over that stretch, so the gain came from the equity side.
ARK's Lorenzo Valente (@LorenzoARK ) sees the next step. He says tokenized equities could pass stablecoin supply within 3 years, even if stables compound 40%+ a year.
I ran the numbers from a ~$306B stablecoin base. At 40% a year, that grows to ~$840B. Equities would need ~250x, about 6.3x a year.
For scale, the ratio grew at roughly 12x annualized in 2026, off a small base, so the required pace sits below what the chart has already delivered.
I think stablecoins are the natural rails for this. They give tokenized equities an onchain cash leg that runs 24/7 and settles atomically.
Transfer volume has recently run around $11B a month, about 3.5x the $3.18B supply.
Settlement is a flow, so the same cash gets reused many times. Stablecoins can carry this market well before equity supply catches up to theirs.
Two areas where I see room to grow:
🔸 Collateral: ~42% of supply is technically eligible as lending collateral and ~2.6% is deployed as such. GLXY went live as collateral on Kamino in April. Most of the eligible supply is still waiting to be put to work.
🔸 Regulation: the SEC's Sep 17 Innovation Exemption opens a five-year, permissioned path for tokens that carry the same rights as shares.
I think the pace holds only if rules and usage keep improving together. The last few weeks gave me reason to expect they will.
If stables grow 40% a year, the crossover needs the ratio near 5% by Oct 2027, ~22% by Oct 2028 and 100% by Oct 2029. Those are the checkpoints I'd measure against.
The first one is 12 months away, and the 2026 pace is already ahead of it.
