I think guys who are playing well need to play and guys who are not playing well have to sit. Winning is the order of the day now.
Losing Rielly is huge. Please work out some kind of ‘Robidas island scenario’ and keep him out.
Stolarz has to play over Bob.
Try it.
5/5
Brian Burke did well in Anaheim and Van. He was a disaster in Toronto. I wanted to love him, I really liked his brash old-school personality and all that ‘truculence, pugnacity, testosterone’ etc. but, ironically, he built a weak team with Kessel, Rielly & Gardiner leading it…
I know the kid has been fucking up but we aren’t scoring 3 without him. Play him.

Odds are stacked against us. Their goalie is stopping everything. If anyone can do it, it’s the Leafs, but it’s not looking good…

Long shift leading up to 3rd goal against. The kid passes the puck to Kreider for a breakaway, Bobrovsky doesn’t make the save. I can live with the kid making a mistake. I can also live with Bob not stopping a breakaway.

Fowler’s best friends came out in force tonight. The red iron pipes.
I love what I’m seeing from the #Leafs right now. Maybe just don’t pass the puck to the other team while on PP roommates :)

2nd goal is nobody’s fault. McCabe had the guy’s stick, and had the guy out of Bob’a field of vision. The puck hit the stick; deflection and in.
Seriously. Rielly’s first shift: gets on the ice with Leafs in O-zone, loses zone, gives up grade A chance, is given the puck with no pressure on him and ices it.

Oen goal by Bobrovsky. Tanev and McCabe had the guy in front all tied up but you cannot stop your own goalie from scoring on himself.
I love this guy! One of the few things Chayka did right was getting this guy and one of the few things Hiller did right was play him. We need to cherish guys like him, not treat them like dirt as has been tradition here over the last decade or so.

Zack MacEwen has been incredible to start the year for the Maple Leafs, and his passion for playing in Toronto may be even better 🫡💙
“Playing in the Canadian market is awesome as a Canadian kid, but it’s a whole different level coming to Toronto. I love being a Maple Leaf. There’s no feeling like it, coming into this city and seeing the reaction from fans and the passion that so many fans across Canada have.
We go to away games and our fans are louder than the other teams. It’s crazy. I used to hate that when I played on other teams, but now I love it. It’s a whole different ballgame here. I’m embracing it, and I’m really honored and proud to be a Maple Leaf.”
