Let’s be clear here. Helen doesn’t have “differences” with Herman. It’s Herman who refuses to be in the same room as Helen It’s Herman who blames white people for all the problems in the country. It’s Herman who started the rot with the EFF and kept it going with the ANC.
Both @helenzille and @HermanMashaba have been telling us how important it is for Joburg to be fixed. But will they put aside their differences and help bring Joburg back to life?

🚨🎙️ FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono on the tragic death of Jesús de Miguel and the threats he has received following the incident. “First of all, I want to send my deepest condolences to Jesús de Miguel’s family, his friends, his teammates and everyone at Tenerife. Honestly, I still cannot believe what has happened. I have been thinking about that moment over and over again, and I don’t think there are words that can describe how painful this is for me. I want everyone to understand something. I never went onto that pitch intending to hurt anybody. I saw the ball coming, I came out because I wanted to clear it, and unfortunately, I collided with Jesús. It happened so quickly. If I could go back and change what happened, I would do it without thinking twice. I would give anything for Jesús to still be here today. “But what has made this situation even more difficult is what has happened since then. I’ve received so many insulting messages, death threats and horrible things directed at me and my family. People are calling me a murderer, as if I went onto that pitch with the intention of taking someone’s life. “I understand the anger. I understand that people are grieving, and believe me, nobody is more devastated by what happened on that pitch than the people who were involved in it. But I am also a human being. I have a family, I have feelings, and this is something that will stay with me for the rest of my life. “People don’t understand the psychological damage this tragedy can cause. I am already struggling to process the death of a fellow footballer, someone who came onto that pitch simply to play football, and now I have to deal with the trauma of knowing that I was involved in an incident that ultimately led to the death of another human being. “I am not asking anyone to forget what happened. I am not asking for sympathy instead of remembering Jesús. I am simply asking people to understand that this was never my intention. I am deeply sorry for what happened, and I wish his family could somehow find the strength to get through this terrible moment. “Jesús deserved to go home to his family after that game. His teammates deserved to see him again. And football deserved to have him around for many more years. “Rest in peace, Jesús. I am truly sorry.”

Andile Mngxitama is an MK Party MP and a member of Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on AGRICULTURE. Taxpayers pay him approximately R1.5 million a year. The fact that someone like this can hold any position of power tells you everything you need to know about South African politics.
In South Africa, the murder of White farmers is not only encouraged by members of parliament but also celebrated. Last week, 50-year-old cattle farmer Donovan Marx was brutally tortured during an attack on his farm in Syferfontein, in South Africa’s North West province. According to police, three unidentified armed men wearing balaclavas entered the property and tied up a farmworker before confronting Marx, shooting him in the upper body, dragging him into his house, and restraining him with cable ties. During the attack, Marx had both ears cut off, was severely beaten, shot in the back, and stabbed in the leg. According to Agri North West deputy chairperson André Strydom, the attackers also attempted to mutilate his genitals. Marx underwent emergency surgery and is currently in critical but stable condition. Police have now arrested five suspects in connection with the attack. Following the attack, Andile Mngxitama, a member of South Africa's parliament, took to X to celebrate it, stating that “attacking the ears is symbolic to denote the refusal of land thieves to listen” and “No land no peace.” Over 3,000 farmers have been murdered in South Africa over the past 30 years. The South African government, however, has refused to acknowledge that there is a racial element to farm murders and instead insists that they are part of a broader crime problem in a dangerous country.

It’s now 3 days and I have not seen a single word from Parliament, Government or the Human Rights Commission on this blatant racism and hate speech. This did not come from some random hater, this is a Member of Parliament. Either I missed it, or they all condone this behavior.

This weekend, the legacy media again fed its poison into the public mind, this time via an article in TimesLIVE arguing that there are too few black players in the Springbok rugby team, with the implication that the team, its supporters, and its achievements are somehow illegitimate, shameful, and undeserving of national praise. f.mtr.cool/j0k483bqus

Come Wednesday, the legacy media will no doubt parrot its usual message of doom, hate, and despair. But regardless of the vote and the coalition deals that ensue, understand that South Africa is a very different country, one of extraordinary resilience, shared values, growing private initiative, and a population whose determination to succeed remains stronger than the failures of its political establishment.

Hey @grok, explain why South Africa is losing AGOA benefits. Trace the US government’s warnings back to 2015, identify the specific concerns raised and how successive South African governments responded. Who actually determines AGOA eligibility, and what evidence, if any, links AfriForum and Solidarity to this decision? Finally, which South African industries, workers and communities stand to suffer most?

You can see the penny dropping for the first time ever for poor Dada. Why did no one explain it like this to him before? All that stuff about using rates to fund maintenance instead of borrowing makes so much sense, but no one told him you can do that.
Helen Zille draws a comparison between Cape Town's drought and Johannesburg's water challenges, arguing that Joburg's supply problems are linked to failing infrastructure and water losses rather than a lack of rainfall. She puts non-revenue water losses at 48%. #Elections2026 #DStv403

My friends and I were talking about the upcoming elections over the weekend. And how incredibly important they are. We did a bit of Googling and found out that South Africa has lost an estimated R2.1 trillion to corruption and mismanagement since the ANC has been in power. That's R8 million every hour. Every. Single. Hour. Imagine the schools, hospitals, jobs and infrastructure we could have had. I wrote this and published it on my Facebook. My editor believed that it deserves to be in an article too. It's a long read. And it's incredibly sobering. But also... hopeful. I received a comment on the original post from a follower who was not going to vote because they believed their vote didn't matter. After reading this, they have decided that there is no choice but to vote. Who knows, maybe reading this will inspire you too... or sharing it, may inspire others. goodthingsguy.com/south-afri…

South Africa is out of AGOA. All they had to do to prevent this was to scrap the "nil compensation" expropriation act, condemn "Kill the Boer", prioritise rural safety & scrap BEE. But the resentment for farmers and whites runs so deep that the ANC would rather cut off the nose to spite the face.

🇿🇦 White South African farmer brutally tortured in farm attack A 50-year-old White South African cattle farmer, Donovan Marx, was brutally tortured during an attack on his farm in Syferfontein, between Potchefstroom and Ventersdorp in South Africa's North West province. According to police, three unidentified armed men wearing balaclavas entered the property and tied up a farmworker before confronting Marx, shooting him in the upper body, dragging him into his house and restraining him with cable ties. During the attack, Marx had both ears cut off, was severely beaten, shot in the back and stabbed in the leg. According to Agri North West deputy chairperson André Strydom, the attackers also attempted to mutilate his genitals. The attackers stole three firearms from a safe and escaped in Marx's red Isuzu pickup truck. The farmworker eventually freed himself and alerted Marx's wife, Louise, who had left for work earlier that morning. Marx underwent emergency surgery at Mediclinic Potchefstroom after suffering a kidney injury. Doctors reportedly managed to save the kidney. As of Thursday afternoon, he was described as being in critical but stable condition.
