Here is a survey measuring support in the SBC for female pastors.
If you’re a Southern Baptist, take a few minutes, and fill it out.

I believe every church be involved in replanting, either as a replanting church or as a church that needs replanted.
If you'd like to see some short videos on why replanting, jump on the email list from the @ReplantNetwork website.

How do you know if a declining or dying church is truly ready and willing to be revitalized?
This is an important question.
What I have observed over the years in working with struggling churches is that the remaining leaders and influencers must share at least these 5 things:
1. Hearts that are humble. – “This is the Lord’s church not ours.”
2. Desire to reach the community with the Gospel. – “This is our mission and mission field.”
3. Commitment to submit to the Bible. – “The Word of God is our authority.”
4. Willingness to take risks and do whatever it takes. – “We are desperate to see God move here.”
5. Belief that God can actually revitalize dying churches. – “God isn’t done with us.”

“We didn’t realize what we didn’t have.” These words were spoken by one of our legacy members (member of the church before it was replanted). She was referring to the countless blessings she’s received as a result of her church’s sacrifice to be replanted. We need to replant more dying churches.

Paul calls the church “a pillar and buttress of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15).
“Stulos” is the Greek word for pillar. This image of the church reminds us of our important task to uphold the truth in a culture of lies and godless ideologies.
The church safeguards the truth.

Pastor’s have to do many things to shepherd faithfully and fruitfully. I believe the following are indispensable:
1. vibrant devotion to Christ
2. theological depth
3. leadership know-how/skill
4. courage

To the man who has seen the depravity of his heart and the shame of his deeds before a holy God, the gospel is beyond amazing.

1. Says who?
2. Measured how?
3.Over what time span?
4. Compared to who and when?
5. Happier or more hedonistic and immature?
6. Who funded the "research"?
7. Lies, damned lies and statistics
8. One phrase: "replication crisis"
9. Meaning and happiness are not the same thing but the former trumps the latter.
10. Responsibility and happiness are not the same thing but the former trumps the latter.
11. Adventure and happiness are not the same thing but the former trumps the latter.
If social or educational psychologists conducted the study, ignore it.
If people who hate children or do not have them conducted the study, dismiss it.

Social scientists have found that evangelical family men who attend church regularly are the most loving husbands and the most engaged fathers.
Compared to the average American family man, evangelical men are
• More loving to their wives
• More engaged with their children--3.5 more hours/wk than secular men
• Lowest rate of divorce--35 % lower than secular men
• Have the lowest rates of domestic violence of any group in the US.
One of the nation’s top marriage researchers is a sociologist named Brad Wilcox of the University of Virginia, and he wrote an article in the New York Times saying
“It turns out that the happiest of all wives in America are religious conservatives. Fully 73 percent of wives who hold conservative gender values and attend religious services regularly with their husbands have high-quality marriages.”
Wilcox then turns to his secular colleagues and says: “Academics need to cast aside their prejudices about religious conservatives and evangelicals in particular.
Conservative Protestant married men with children are consistently the most active and expressive fathers and the most emotionally engaged husbands.”
This is not a pep talk from a religious leader. These are the results of rigorous empirical testing. They are evidence based findings showing that Christianity does have the power to reconcile the sexes, as I put it in the subtitle to my book.
We should be confident about bringing into the secular arena to debunk secular narrative--and also into the church to help men to see that if they follow God's word, they will have happier marriages and families.

The SBC messengers should vote to pass the Law Amendment and disassociate with churches unwilling to align themselves with the BF&M…without blushing or giving 10,000 caveats.

I think churches who are ahead of the curve will do two things in the next decade:
(1) Merge
Merging with smaller, dying churches.
(2) Education
Host or start homeschool co-ops and private schools. So many are turning to this for education.
Thoughts?

A lot of people here hating on mergers don’t realize two things:
(1) Bivo pastors are hard to find. My association has 7 churches looking for one. Been looking a long time.
(2) avg SBC pastor is 58. We are about to have a massive shortage of pastors for established churches. – at Alabama, USA
