The offense is incredibly stale without Joel in the lineup. Just swinging the ball around the outside until someone tries to go 1 on 1
Sixers had the potential coming into this year to be a deadly transition unit and it seems like that’s really been a point of emphasis early.
My pre-season breakdown on the weapons at their disposal heading into the year:

after years of searching the Sixers have somehow acquired the Lebron James of Nic Batums and it is Lebron James
The data here backs up my thoughts from a first watch through that the Sixers were generating great looks throughout the night and simply not hitting the way you'd expect them to going forward. This offense is going to be scary if they can maintain this ball movement and pace.

So we got our first glimpse of the new sixers starting lineup and these defensive numbers are surely something
Initial thoughts on the Sixers from the opener vs the Knicks 🧵:
- They generated a ton of open 3-pt looks — we haven’t touched a passer at LeBron’s level for the entirety of the process. Offense is going to be great if they can shoot even average on those looks
- Brown was off as a scorer in this one a bit and some of his contested midrange shots will be frustrating at times, but he was dominant when getting to the rim. The adjustment he’ll need to make this year is likely to be the biggest of anyone on the team from last season
While previous star-studded rosters often had to cut usage when combining players onto a new roster, the Sixers' drop-off in size is unprecedented and may lead to some early-season growing pains before they meet their potential.
How much effort will it take for the Sixers to share the ball? I took a look at the 07-08 Celtics, 10-11 Heat, and 16-17 Warriors to see how previous star-studded rosters were able to strike a balance and what the Sixers could do:

The Eagles are No. 32 in the yards in the second half this season. But consider this: The difference between them and the No. 31 team (Minnesota) is greater than the difference between the No. 31 and the No. 12 team. That's how far behind they are!
Transition offense could be a real weapon for the Sixers this season given their personnel. Read more about how they fit together below!

.@Eagles @ChicagoBears the Birds have attempted this hitch screen off ghost motion in every game....The receivers do not know how to block on the perimeter and it gets blown up every time. Remove from Playbook #BaldysBreakdowns
This is arguably the most important side of the ball for any one player on the Sixers this season. The offense will work itself out, but we NEED a massive defensive season from JB if the Sixers are to have any chance at hitting their ceiling
