On the hypothetical in which QH still hasn’t made a decision after a while:
“I haven't really decided, at some point in time I'll have to try to figure things out and see what’s best for the team. I know one thing’s for sure: having Quinn on our team is what’s best for the team. And, you know, I don't know. I’ll be completely honest with you, I don’t know. I don't know what’s going to happen. I don't know what I’m going to do. There’s no date. What we're doing right now is focusing on our team and trying to win hockey games. That’s really it. I think some people want to make this more complicated than it really is — being the media. And it’s not that complicated."

A lot of fans got mad at me for saying the Buium contract was a big gamble when it was signed.
I'm not overreacting to how bad he's played after just 8 games this season, but people should at least admit that there IS a lot of risk with that contract (more than others).
Unpopular opinion, but the #Canucks are taking a MASSIVE gamble on a guy with only a year of NHL experience and 26 points for an offense-first defenseman.
Put it this way. I don't think the reaction to this contract would be as positive if the previous mgmt regime signed it.

Kevin Lankinen is under contract at $4.5M AAV until 2031. It doesn't matter now, but that's going to be an issue if he still sucks in a few years when the Canucks are hopefully coming out of their rebuild.
