Takuma Inoue vs Tenshin Nasukawa 🥊
A lot of people can appear intelligent when they’re given time to think. I want to know what happens when the fire alarm goes off.
Tenshin Nasukawa is pretty f’n good when the building is quiet. Give him room, let him establish his rhythm and those athletic gifts start jumping off the screen. This is why he got off to an early lead in their first fight. I thought he won first two rounds vs Takuma.
Then Takuma pulled the alarm.
He got closer, changed rhythms, put the jab in Tenshin’s face. Made him defend, reset and make another decision before he had finished processing the first one. And suddenly, we weren’t measuring hand speed anymore. We were measuring how quickly two fighters could find the exit in the dark.
Takuma knew the building better.
Tenshin is effective when you give him space and allow him to work at his pace. That’s when’s able to maximize his physical advantages - his reach, athleticism and quicker one-shot pop. Once Inoue compressed the ring, though, the fight became much more about processing speed under pressure than raw hand speed. That’s where Inoue has a significant advantage, the biggest of the fight - fight iq, which comes from his extensive boxing background.
That rhythmic bounce into the jab may have been my favorite adjustment of the entire fight because it disguised exactly when Takuma was crossing the threshold. Tenshin could no longer measure him from the end of his reach and prepare the appropriate athletic response.
Bounce, feint, jab 🥊 Half-step,
right hand 🥊 Reset. The pictures kept changing.
That’s where the difference in boxing education became glaring.
Takuma started boxing at 8 years old. And while Tenshin has a wealth of combat-sports experience, boxing and fighting aren’t equally interchangeable currencies.
Boxing, at this level, is made up of a million tiny nuances - a shoulder position, where your opponent’s lead foot lands, the fraction of a second after you’ve finished punching - instances where Takuma doesn’t have to consciously search for the answer, its second nature.
That’s why their fight in the pocket was so revealing.
Takuma isn’t some devastating puncher. That’s actually what made Tenshin’s frustration more interesting to me. It wasn’t overwhelming firepower that was disturbing him, it was accuracy, positioning and repeatedly being made uncomfortable.
Nasukawa was an extraordinary kickboxer who became accustomed to being the special athlete in the room. Losing is foreign to him. When Takuma began solving problems faster than he could, Tenshin started wearing that frustration on his sleeve. In the 11th round, Nasukawa had a Ricardo Mayorga moment - he dropped his hands and invited Inoue to hit him.
Takuma needs to make him reach that emotional place again.
Against Estrada, I saw improved feints from Tenshin. Better manipulation with the lead hand, more purposeful body punching, a different level of patience. He wasn’t relying solely on those spectacular athletic bursts anymore. That’s development, but development has to be contextualized.
Estrada was nearly 36, well removed from his physical prime and largely inactive (only 2 fights in three and a half years). More importantly for this matchup, he wasn’t taking Tenshin’s geography away from him with the consistency Takuma did.

Emanuel Navarrete vs O’Shaquie Foster 🥊
3 world titles, two radically different interpretations of the sweet science.
Emanuel Navarrete fights like a made man in 1950’s Las Vegas. For years, he’s been skimming from boxing’s casinos, bending every rule of sound mechanics, reaching recklessly over his front foot farther than Dhalism, throwing punches from positions that defy boxing logic, leaving his chin exposed and his balance compromised. And somehow, instead of getting caught, he’s been leaving the casino with championship belts and suitcases full of cash.
But Saturday night, he may discover that O’Shaquie Foster isn’t another casino owner.
Shock is the forensic accountant who’s been studying the books. He knows exactly where Navarrete’s balance goes missing, which punches leave his chin unaccounted for and how long it takes him to recover his feet after overextending.
El Vaquero: The genius of disorder
There’s a tendency to mistake Navarrete’s awkwardness for a lack of sophistication. I think that’s a mistake.
Navarrete understands something important about physical combat: an opponent cannot defend against a rhythm he can’t identify.
His punches don’t arrive along conventional flight paths. The FAA has tried banning him. They come from strange heights, strange distances and occasionally, from body positions that seem physically incompatible with throwing an effective punch.
He’ll reach over that lead foot and hit you from a distance where you thought you were safe. He’ll sling a shot around the guard, then attack downstairs before you’ve figured out where the first punch originated.
It’s almost like trying to play chess against somebody who keeps introducing pieces you’ve never seen before. You know the rules, he just doesn’t seem interested in obeying them.
And the punishment accumulates.
Navarrete isn’t a Julian Jackson-type puncher who erases your consciousness with one perfectly placed shot. His danger is more corrosive. The volume, the body punching, the uncomfortable angles, the repeated physical demands of defending yourself against a man who refuses to stop coming.
Nav doesn't demolish the building with one perfectly placed explosive, he’ll drive a bulldozer through the lobby, knock out 3 supporting walls by accident, reverse over the rubble and keep going until the entire structure comes down 😂
And once he senses that collapse beginning, he’s a vicious finisher.
But here’s the problem.
Navarrete’s awkwardness is both his greatest weapon and his most exploitable weakness. He throws punches from angles that make no damn sense, often leaning so far over his front foot that his balance is severely compromised. Against most opponents, that unpredictability creates confusion. Against a counterpuncher with Foster’s eyes, timing and intelligence, those same unorthodox movements can become very dangerous.
Shock Foster: A different kind of intelligence
I consider O’Shaquie Foster one of the premier boxing tacticians operating today.
Not simply because he’s fast, although the hand-speed advantage here should be substantial. Not simply because he has excellent feet, although I believe his mobility will be instrumental. It’s because Shock’s boxing iq is among the highest in the sport and he has a tremendous ability to make in-fight adjustments.
Foster can conduct that audit while the casino is still open for business. If the numbers don’t add up in the early rounds, he’ll change his approach, examine a different part of the operation and find another way in. Navarrete may spend the first few rounds thinking he’s getting away with murder, only to discover by the halfway point that Foster has already figured out the entire racket.

The danger of confusing movement with winning
Here’s where I think Foster has to be careful…
San Antonio is going to be a wild environment. Navarrete is a Mexican champion with an exciting, aggressive style and I expect his supporters to be extremely vocal.
When he starts throwing those long combinations, the building will explode whether the punches land cleanly or not. That’s important to remember.
Judges are supposed to score effective punching, not the emotional reaction of the people purchasing the tickets. But fighters would be foolish to pretend that scorecards aren’t affected by the optics of a fight.
Foster cannot box for 12 twelve rounds by simply making Navarrete miss while forgetting to make him pay. There’s a significant difference between controlling distance and merely maintaining distance.
If Navarrete throws 6 punches, lands one and Foster responds with a solitary jab before disappearing, that may be a technically successful defensive sequence. But repeat that often enough and you create rounds that can become uncomfortable on the scorecards.
I want Foster’s defense to have an offensive consequence. Make Navarrete miss 2, then land 3. Make him fall over that front foot and punish him before he can recover his posture.
Don’t just demonstrate that Navarrete can’t hit you, show the world the cost of trying.
That’s how you win rounds decisively against a high-volume pressure fighter. And that’s how you begin taking the crowd out of the equation.
Can Navarrete change the fight?
No doubt.
And this is why I’m not treating Foster as some overwhelming favorite.
Navarrete’s body punching is a genuine concern. He understands that a mobile opponent is often most vulnerable when you force him to work at a pace he hasn’t chosen.
He’ll want to make Foster expend energy constantly. Chase him toward the ropes, invest downstairs, keep his hands moving and gradually turn a contest of reflexes into a contest of endurance.
And his conditioning appears to have improved, thanks to finally adding a nutritionist to his team.
If Foster begins spending too much time standing directly in front of him, Navarrete can turn the fight into the kind of extended physical brawl that has made him a world champion across 3 weight divisions.
There’s also the question of Foster’s offensive restraint.
He’s occasionally content doing just enough. Against Navarrete, that can be dangerous.
Foster doesn’t have to match Navarrete punch for punch. That would be foolish. But the disparity in activity cannot become so pronounced that the judges are forced to choose between Navarrete’s sustained aggression and Foster’s occasional moments of brilliance.
The answer is controlled, consistent counterattacks.
#NavarreteFoster #GonzalezVasquez #MartinZaina #NavarroMoreno #DavisFaccio #CortezMontoya #Boxing #Boxeo #BettingPicks
How I see the fight unfolding…
I expect Navarrete to come forward early, testing whether Foster’s jab has enough of that Houston shxt to discourage em. And frankly, I don’t think the jab alone will discourage him.
Navarrete has too much confidence, too much experience and too much faith in his ability to overwhelm opponents with volume. He’ll walk through some of those shots.
But the difference will come when he starts reaching. That’s when Foster’s hand speed should become glaring.
I envision Navarrete launching one of those long, awkward attacks, his head way over his front foot, and Foster taking a short step or two backward before driving a clean left hand through the opening.
Then another exchange where Foster pivots, makes Navarrete turn and catches him before his feet are properly organized.
And another.
Eventually, Navarrete will discover that every attempt to force a bar fight is producing disastrous results.
I don’t believe Foster needs to hurt Navarrete badly to win this fight, but I wouldn’t rule out a knockdown.
Not because Foster is a devastating puncher, but because balance matters enormously when you’re absorbing a shot you haven’t properly prepared to receive.
Navarrete constantly overextends himself and Shock has the timing to take advantage.
Final Prediction: Navarrete has spent years running one of boxing’s most lucrative rackets. Like the mobsters who skimmed millions from Las Vegas casinos, he’s gotten rich exploiting weaknesses in a system that was supposed to punish him for it. The difference is that those old Vegas operations were built to fool yesterday’s surveillance.
O’Shaquie Foster is bringing 21st century technology to a 1950’s casino.
His eyes are high-definition cameras with a 125x optical zoom. His reflexes are motion sensors. His boxing IQ is the surveillance team that can spot a suspicious transaction before the money ever leaves the counting room. Every time Navarrete reaches too far, squares his feet or leaves his chin exposed, another discrepancy appears on the screen.
And Foster’s greatest asset? He can upgrade the surveillance system in the middle of the investigation. If one camera angle isn’t catching the operation, he finds another. If Navarrete changes the scheme, Foster adjusts the coverage.
For years, Vaquero has been getting away with the skim because nobody could catch him in the act. Saturday night, I think Shock catches him on camera and makes him pay for every dollar.
I’m taking ⚡️ to win on points at +100 🥊

Re: WBO 105 lbs Champion - Oscar Collazo
The WBO World Championships Committee has formally ordered negotiations between WBO Mini Flyweight World Champion Oscar Collazo and WBO Interim World Champion Ryusei Matsumoto to fulfill the mandatory championship obligation and promptly terminate the interim championship status.
This determination reaffirms the WBO’s commitment to its longstanding One World Champion per Division Policy, ensuring clarity, continuity, and integrity in its World Championships.
The parties have 15 days to reach an agreement. Should negotiations prove unsuccessful, the Committee will order purse bid proceedings in accordance with WBO Regulations.

I'm DONE with Las Vegas as a boxing destination unless there's an actual fight I'm coming here to see in person.
I'll tell you why.
This city calls itself the fight capital of the world, but you would hardly know it unless that specific fight card is in town.
First, you can't even use their betting apps without showing up in person to verify your account. You jump through all these hoops and what's waiting for you on the other side? Betting apps that look like they were designed when Mike Tyson still had a head full of hair.
But that’s not even the half of it. I'm trying to watch Dubois vs Wardley II, a MAJOR heavyweight card - I go to MGM - Nothing. Caesars - Nothing. THREE different bars. NOTHING!
And then some guy at @CaesarsSports has the nerve to tell me showing the fight would be too expensive because of the PPV fees. TOO EXPENSIVE?! FOR A SPORTSBOOK IN LAS VEGAS?!
Dawg, you've got people walking through that casino losing the price of a PPV every time they pull a slot machine lever and you're telling me you can't afford to put a heavyweight championship fight on a television?!
That's like walking into a steakhouse and being told they don't serve meat because the cows got too expensive.
I came here thinking I'd be surrounded by boxing. The atmosphere, the history, the excitement. This is the city where some of the greatest fights in history took place.
Instead, I'm walking from one establishment to another like a man looking for a glass of water in the desert.
And you wanna know where I ended up watching the card? IN MY DAMN rental!
Sitting in a parking garage at the Cosmopolitan, watching a heavyweight boxing card on my phone!
Think about the absurdity of that for a second. I'm in the fight capital of the world, surrounded by billion-dollar casinos and giant television screens and the best seat I can find for a boxing match is behind my own steering wheel 😂🤦🏻♂️
Las Vegas, you've got the history and reputation. But a reputation isn't worth a damn thing if you can't deliver the experience that built it.
Next time, I'll watch from home.
At least there, the sportsbook works, the fight's on and I don't have to sit in a parking garage to enjoy it.

Bakhodir Jalolov vs Solomon Dacres 🥊
Since turning pro, Bakhodir Jalolov hasn’t looked nearly as spectacular as he did when he was an amateur, but I don’t think Solomon has the tools to beat him. For a man that big (6’7), Jalolov is remarkably agile. He controls distance extremely well.
And that's where the psychological warfare begins.
Jab, straight left. Jab, straight left. Nothing complicated. He’ll 1-2 you to death. But after 4 or 5 rounds of getting touched without being able to hit him back, a man starts arguing with himself - “I can't keep doing this. I'm losing rounds. I've gotta get inside.” That’s where he becomes dangerous.
You rush the distance, reach with a shot, square your feet trying to get inside and BANG! 🥊 He just walked you straight into something heavy.
Solomon isn’t a big puncher and I certainly don’t see him outboxing a 2x Olympic gold medalist from the outside.
Jalolov on the ML is a very solid parlay piece this wknd (-375)

Kameda is in the best shape of his life. Figueroa lost his belt on the scale and didn’t even have enough decency to participate in the ceremonial weigh in. What a disgrace.
Chris Mannix also reported he sustained a hamstring injury during camp. Make of that what you will. I’m live in Vegas for this one.

🚨Bektemir Melikuziev posted this statement on Instagram this morning, prior to Jaime Munguia announcing his WBA Super Middleweight Title Defence against Nikita Zon, indicating that he had no interest in step aside money. Munguia was ordered to face Melikuziev by the WBA on September 21st, with the negotiations period set to end on October 21st
"My team was given one clear mission: to make this fight happen and do everything possible to secure my opportunity to fight for the world title.
We agreed to all of their conditions and overcame all of their hesitations.
I agreed to fight Jaime Munguia on short notice, without a proper training camp. I agreed to fight without VADA testing, even though we have always insisted on it. I even agreed to accept the lowest possible purse or no purse at all.
We made every concession possible to make this fight happen.
And yet, my team has now informed me that Munguia is still refusing to fight me.
So I have one simple question:
Why hasn't a purse bid been ordered? And if the champion refuses to fulfill his mandatory obligation, why hasn't he been stripped of his title?
What is there left for me to do to receive the opportunity I have earned a long time ago?
Has anybody asked Mungia and his team, what is the reason he doesn want to fight his mandatory? Maybe there is a reason that is respectful? If he can at least let the world know, I would respect it if there is a good reason. Stop acting as if there is no mandatory and no rules.
I heard he was getting 1 million for this easy fight, but wants even more money to fight me, but there is no budget. Do they expect me to fight for no purse and add some money for mungia? No problem, let's go to uzbekistan, we will add money for you to fight me there!"
