Sadly these cleaners remain outsourced from private for profit bus companies. Ignored during covid - the unsung heroes of London Buses, fueling, shunting and cleaning.
This excludes cleaners from London Bus depots. The unsung heroes of Covid.
A new comprehensive pilot exploring how @TfL can deliver cleaning services in-house will begin this week.
I’ve long championed insourcing where possible, and that of course includes our hard working and essential cleaning staff. I’m pleased that TfL is taking this important step both for customers and for the dedicated cleaning colleagues who help keep London moving.
I want to thank the RMT for their work and invaluable input.

But NOT cleaners in private for profit bus depots. The unsung heroes of Covid - TfL wont bring them in house.

Why would we want “Air cooling” written in contracts? The london bus driver bill of rights doesn’t fight for “Air Conditioning”.
London Bus Drivers have to use the metro newspaper to block the sun in the cab. The excuses TfL give is it might block the view of the mirror. Picture one has an electric mirror. Picture two is what a sun visor looks like. #heatwave #fightfatigue #LondonBusDriver
