Non-techies can FINALLY build stuff they could never build. • Building is easy. Selling is hard. Most people don’t know how to market their products. • There’s a euphoria around AI and people are scared for their jobs at the same time. Everyone has an AI side project. • Rents are through the roof due to AI boom in SF. Apartments are going off the market in minutes. • The idea of ‘escaping permanent underclass’ is getting unwarranted attention. • Too many investors are on pickleball courts. Scouring for new ideas and founders. • Obviously dating is happening too. And hiring! • X and real world are intertwined. Ideas spread on X and within a day, IRL conversations change on courts. • Pivoting is happening every week at some startups . Big labs release a model and hundreds of startups become obsolete in a day. Software moats are disappearing. • The demand of a GTM guru (who’s a branding, design, product and marketing genius - all in one) is through the roof. • Rounds are happening at insane valuations. The valuations are doubling in a week! • Post-abundance world, UBI, purpose of humans, religion, family, values and benevolence of intelligent machines have become a hot topic of discussion. • Everyone and their aunt is an angel investor now! I know two founders who closed a seed round on pickleball courts last week. • People are living in future, riding in a Waymo, drinking matcha and ditching tennis. Pickleball and AI have taken over SF like Karl the fog 🌁

How to make your product as delightful as this Ube muffin I ate today? 🍩 😁 • Taste it yourself - many people ship products that they don't even use themselves. Don't be one of those. • Put up a frosting - you've to stand out in the market. There's rarely a category without any competitors. The purple frosting is what made me stop. What's YOUR purple frosting? • Users at the core - Automation is great but when you're small, you've to talk to customers. You should literally be able to call/meet them in-person. • Cherish criticism - that's the only way to grow. If no one criticizes your product, it means it's not even worth a look. So, be grateful to users to who give you thoughtful feedback. We offered a beta portfolio website builder on @ButternutAI. Thousands took their websites live. Some lessons from our experiment : - Release early. Customers who are willing to try out your beta give great feedback. - Don't just ask for emails for a waitlist. Share a product, even if it is an MVP. People lose attention too soon. - As a founder, be active on social media. If you're good at writing, LinkedIn/X. If you love making videos, Youtube/Tiktok. Don't leave the opportunity to directly connect with your users. - AI is making consumer startups relevant again. In our case, many told us that websites is already a crowded category. Why even try when Wix, Squarespace and likes have a monopoly? They don't understand that AI has changed rules of game. Old software was clunky, AI products are seamless. Many people who use Butternut have been trying for years to create their portfolio sites but get bogged down by complexity of legacy platforms. So, it's a GREAT time to innovate in categories that are supposedly 'monopolized'. - Test your assumptions. We had prior notion of our ICP who would use our product. But surprisingly, our beta customers are from an entirely different category which is a pleasant surprise. - Be ready for a flop! I posted this offer on X, only a few dozen people reached out. On LinkedIn, thousands did. If your launch fails on one platform, try another. If it fails today, try tomorrow. No one is deducting any marks if you launch again and again :) Thanks again to all the users. As of today, 10334 people have taken their portfolio websites live. Great to meet @maorshlomo, founder of @base44 in NYC. @Wix and Base 44 organised a wonderful event on future of 'vibe coding'. Some pointers - • 'Build in Public' works wonders. Great for building community, getting users and instant feedback. • The initial version of Base 44 didn't attract users. People were sending him hate emails and pointing out flaws after @ProductHunt launch. • The product didn't take off till Feb '25. And then it went up like rocket! However, there were too many crises. • Vibe coding is here to stay. AI is disrupting how software will be built. Great time to build. • The future of vibe coding is AI Agents/ agentic apps and enterprise apps. • Technical folks think everyone knows about APIs, deployment etc. but that's not true.
