After last night, a lot of people are asking what this means for East Potomac. Unfortunately, it doesn’t mean the fight is over. But we expect a Democratic Congress to actually use its power to stop this theft of a public park.
Block every dollar. No funding for East Potomac in any bill. Not one single cent. And write it so they can’t just ignore it and dare someone to stop them.
Pass a law protecting this park, specifically. Make the 1897 promise, “for the recreation and pleasure of the people,” mean something in black and white. Make Trump sign it or veto it in front of everyone.
Put officials under oath, on the record, in public. We’ve already seen what happens when this administration gets questioned under oath in court. Make them do it again and again.
Public lands belong to the public. They do not belong to any one person.
Now go protect public lands.

Some great news for factory-farmed pigs last night.
In Iowa and Kansas, voters rejected the lead sponsors of the Save Our Bacon Act in both the House and Senate: Rep. Ashley Hinson and Sen. Roger Marshall.
These were the politicians who did the pork lobby’s bidding and tried to wipe out every state ban on selling pork from crated pigs.
Yet even in two of the most pro-agriculture states in the country, it cost them more votes than it won them.
The politicians who follow the factory farming lobby aren’t as safe as they thought.
