.@CDIC_CA stands with @OSFICanada in its decision on a new qualifying rate for uninsured residential mortgages. We see this as a measured, prudent adaptation to the risk environment in residential mortgage finance - promoting financial resilience amongst our member institutions.
(2/2) Today, we decided to move forward with our proposal. As of June 1, 2021, the minimum qualifying rate for uninsured mortgages will be the higher of the mortgage contract rate + 2% or 5.25%. For more info: ow.ly/Th6h50ERxNI
