As families across California light diyas and gather together, we're reminded that light always overcomes darkness and hope always defeats fear. Wishing you all a bright and blessed Diwali. 🪔✨

Thank you, @AGRobBonta , for holding the Trump Administration accountable when it enacts harmful policies. From opposing Trump’s attempt to end birthright citizenship to defending healthcare, and challenging the administration’s freeze on federal grants for more teachers—you have consistently demonstrated what it means to lead with strength and integrity.
This is #CaliforniaStrong 🐻

We strongly condemn the recent vandalism at the Mandir in Chino Hills. All houses of worship should be safe spaces to come together, pray, and reflect. Everyone has the the right to practice their faith without fear or discrimination.
In the face of another Mandir desecration, this time in Chino Hills, CA, the Hindu community stand steadfast against hate. Together with the community in Chino Hills and Southern California, we will never let hate take root. Our common humanity and faith will ensure that peace and compassion prevail.

Donald Trump — and House Republicans — have repeatedly proposed gutting Medicaid to pay for their billionaire tax handouts. Yesterday, they got their wish thanks to @RepYoungKim @RepDavidValadao @KevinKileyCA & Ken kalvert …
Meanwhile, California Democrats continue to fight to protect working families and critical programs at every turn. Thank you @repadamgrayca @RepDerekTranCA @gtwhitesides & @CongressMin ✊💙
Breaking: this evening, House Republicans voted to drastically cut Medicaid and food assistance programs by a vote of 217-215. Not a single Democrat voted for the cuts. Every GOP House member in CA voted to cut essential funding for their districts.
ALT Showing 217 red squares indicating GOP Republican votes to gut healthcare and food assistance, and not one Democratic vote for these cuts.
ALT Quote by Leader Jeffries that the breadth of the cuts will be devastating to all American families.

I’ve been asked what it means to be 1st Korean American Senator. On this Korean American day, I want to share a photo of the home where my mom grew up during Korean War. America opened its doors and helped her become a nurse. Last week she stood with me as I was sworn in. THREAD
