Covid Hospital Admissions in England
In Week 42, ending 18 October 2026, the SARI weekly hospital admission rate for Covid-19 increased to 2.6 per 100,000.
Modelling based on the ONS WCIS data suggests a SARS-CoV-2 infection prevalence of 1 in 79.

Covid infections in England are continuing to increase. The overall Covid risk level remains High and, as of 18 October, 1 in every 149 people in England were infected. Full precautions, including a PPE mask, are strongly recommended in ALL indoor places.
