Since 1966, we've been proud to invest and grow in Ascension Parish. Today, our Blue Point Complex harnesses the region's resources and talented workforce to serve the global ammonia market, while deepening our commitment to communities across Louisiana.
Interest in low-carbon ammonia for industrial applications is growing — especially in Europe.
As new regulations like CBAM take shape and stakeholders raise the bar on decarbonization, the need for reliable, low-carbon nitrogen solutions has never been clearer.

In August, CF Industries, JERA and Mitsui celebrated the groundbreaking of the world’s largest ammonia production facility, which will help strengthen the availability and reliability of nitrogen supply for American farmers.
See how it will deliver economic and environmental benefits in Louisiana and around the world 👇
Construction to build the world’s largest low-carbon ammonia facility has begun. CF Industries’ Blue Point One Complex is expected to produce ~1.4 million metric tons of low-carbon ammonia annually beginning in 2029.

AMERICAN FERTILIZER IS COMING BACK. 🇺🇸
Today in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, we broke ground on @CFIndustries’ $3.7 BILLION Blue Point project—a major step toward American fertilizer independence.
Once operational, the facility is expected to be the world’s largest ammonia plant by nameplate capacity, producing approximately 1.4 MILLION metric tons annually. That fertilizer will support 6.7 MILLION acres of American corn production—or roughly 1.2 BILLION bushels.
Construction is also expected to create 3,900 jobs over four years and more than 100 permanent jobs here in Louisiana.
After companies were told federal permitting could take years, the Trump Administration helped move this project through federal review in roughly 45 DAYS.
Thank you to @DepSecVaden, @RepJuliaLetlow, Assistant Secretary Adam Telle, Chris Bohn, and the entire @CFIndustries team for helping bring more fertilizer production, investment, and jobs back to America.
The power generation sector is emerging as a major market opportunity for low-carbon ammonia. Interest in co-combustion with ammonia is growing — particularly in Japan and South Korea — as utilities look to reduce GHG emissions from coal power plants.
Our Blue Point Joint Venture partners, JERA and Mitsui, are set to supply significant volumes of low-carbon ammonia from Blue Point One for exactly this purpose.
The energy transition is accelerating, and we're proud to be positioned at the center of it.
At CF Industries, we're building long-term resilience while creating new growth opportunities through low-carbon solutions.

At CF Industries, we're unlocking new opportunities in growing markets. One of those markets is ethanol.
Here's why ethanol is a natural fit for our low-carbon strategy:
-Demand for low-carbon ethanol is accelerating in markets with low-carbon fuel standards, including California and the European Union.
-The use of low-carbon fertilizer can reduce the carbon intensity of ethanol by up to 10% — a meaningful impact across the value chain.
-We're already putting this into practice through a low-carbon ammonia pilot project with @POETbiofuels, the world's largest biofuel producer.
This June, we're proud to celebrate National Safety Month. 🦺
